  Short memorable jaunt to this amazingly place which exudes serenity, lavishly surrounded by natural resources.

  We stayed there for a couple of days to rekindle what we have. We aimed for a place that can make us relax and free from the hustle and bustle of the city and no one would ever thought that you can find this kind of place just few minutes from the main city. Everything was green and refreshing to the eyes especially to a nature lover like me, where you can see birds of different hues, wild monkeys and squirrels freely roaming around. The serene lake was a sight , swans swimming and fish jumping near the shore. Food was excellent, whether it maybe western or Sri Lankan food. Staffs are super friendly and courteous and always wear a smile in their face. There are four downsides though: 1. Wooden floors are too noisy it kept us awake most of the time 2. Smell of the room is not nice, it smells like a temple full of strong incense sticks 3. Bathroom is spacious but there is no privacy as it has transparent window at the upper portion. People who are staying in the upper floor balcony can see inside. 4. It was busy when we went there, everyday there is gathering so it was noisy and we can hear it perfectly from our room. All in all, i would not recommend this place for people who are opting for a full relaxation.

  Beautiful View

  Very peaceful environment...friendly staff..Sunday buffet is worth for money we spend..includes swimming pool as well..more than that picturesque place..food is delicious..and have enough place to play for kids...recommend this place for friends to have their leisure time

  Such a breathtaking view!

  This place is simply a divine treat if you are a nature lover. It is situated at the edge of the Bolgoda lake which adds a calm serenity to the hotel. The sunrise and sunset is amazing here. Staff is very friendly, helpful and courteous. The rooms are spacious and cozy with a great view of the lake. Food is great too and the best thing is you can dine under the trees near the lake. Such an amazing experience!

  Very relaxing

  Very relaxing and a nice place.... clean and the staff were very accommodating.... prices are very reasonable and value for money..... portions were good and the food was very tasty.... only negative remark I have is the fact that the path leading to the dressing room is somewhat slippery and should reconsider maybe changing the tiles or adding a mat

  Good location, average service

  Thotupola Facility The location and architecture is nice, although the building are not designed with practicality in mind. They have ladder like steep staircases to get to the bedrooms and carrying a bag of getting up and down at night is quite difficult. Getting to the pool, dinner area takes a roundabout way. Food: Average Service: Poor, staff not trained well, takes a long time to get any service. When bring the in room dinner the server tipped the tray and dropped half the meal on the floor, then came back wiped the floor and left despite repeated request to replace the dish they dropped, was ignored. We finally ended up sharing one dish as it was getting cold. Activities: There are many, but most non functional Swimming pool: good climbing wall: not staffed, non functional Suspension Bridge: non functional Zip line: non functional Boats: too expensive Thotupola is fine for day outings for a group, not a great place for overnight stay.
