  Elegant and welcoming

  We were made to feel very welcome in this gracious house, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was excellent, the food delicious and the parkland and surrounding walks would never cease to be be delightful. A perfect weekend.

  Beautiful Estate

  Thornham Hall (estate) is simply gorgeous. Lesley our host/owner was very engaging and "down to earth." We had a room with one single bed and another with a four poster bed, which was easy to melt into. There are many trails to walk on and lovely horses dotting the landscape out of our windows. Lesley is an amazing cook and spoiled us greatly. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

  Wonderful experience

  If you want the experience of staying in a stylish Country Home then look no further. The Hall is beautifully furnished. The views across the Estate stunning. The Hostess welcoming and friendly. There is some quirkiness about the place that adds to the charm so go with an open mind and youll not be disappointed. We shall definitely return!

  Elegant and charming country estate

  We very much enjoyed our stay at Thornham Hall. All rooms are beautifully decorated, comfortable and offer amazing views over the estate. Lesley is a wonderful hostess, offering us tea when we arrived, turning down our beds for the night and cooking us the most delicious breakfast. We felt very welcome in her elegant home. We also very much enjoyed the amazing array of wildlife on the estate. When we looked out of our window in the morning, the front lawn was 'dotted' with bunnies and several gorgeous horses had come for a nibble of grass. There are also many birds, including the resident peacock, cows and deer. All quite fun to explore. Our boys also enjoyed a game of croquet on the front lawn. All in all a wonderful stay and very much recommended!

  Guests in a country house

  The Henniker family is one of Suffolk's oldest, as testified by memorials and monuments in the adjacent church of St Mary Magdalen. Thornham Hall, with its park (and the famous Thornham Walks) is definitely not a hotel. It is an elegant country house into which its owner, Lesley Henniker- Major welcomes guests and looks after them with an almost uncanny eye for their comfort; and she has a rare gift of making one feel immediately at home. Views are wonderful, the house is beautiful and supremely comfortable and breakfast is magnificent. The medieval town of Eye and many other fascinating places are a short drive away, while the countryside is the best! And to crown it,the are great country pubs and two fine restaurants within easy reach. Who could ask for more?
