Hotel stay resembling a home stay
After moving to Oslo, my 1-year old dog and I stayed at Thon Hotel Slottsparken for 3 months. Overall my experience was extremely positive and the time at the hotel felt like a home away from home. Note that my stay overlapped with the outbreak of the Corona virus which complicated the circumstances for everyone, although that was barely noticeable considering the smooth operation at the hotel. The hotel staff make you feel welcome and gladly assist or help with any needs you might have. Youre always greeted with a smile and warm welcome. My apartment was on the 4th floor and is spacious and modern. Towels are changed two times weekly and the room is cleaned every Wednesday. The kitchenette offers all you need to cook and be self-sustainable. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is spacious. Youre able to watch your own media content like Netflix or Spotify via the smart tv. The breakfast in the hotel is splendid and the buffet offers a wide variety of delicious foods. In the basement of the hotel washing and drying services are on offer at a decent price. An iron is included in each room if needed. The hotel ideally located adjacent to Slottsparken and this central location offers easy access to public transport. Choosing this hotel places you only a short walking distance away from the city centre. Close to the hotel you can find supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, a pharmacy and even a Hertz rental office. For anyone requiring a short or long term stay in Oslo, I would absolutely advise Thon Hotel Slottsparken. It has been a perfect welcome for me to Oslo!

My favorite hotel in Oslo
This hotel has a front desk staff that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in through the front door. They are attentive, welcoming and service minded throughout. They are also very attentive to the Thon loyalty program, and will upgrade (high level) members if they can. The rooms (I have stayed here several times) are clean and well kept. Even though the hotel is located at a fairly busy street in Oslo, its still quiet inside. As the hotel i located in the city center, it is perfect for both business trips and for a city-weekend. Im looking forward to my next stay!

Quiet hotel in Oslo
I love this hotel!!! Excellent staff and service. Tidy and neat rooms.Modern interior. Free tea, coffee and water are provided and a great breakfast buffett with norwegian specialities and freshly baked bread and bread rolls. Will be back at Slottsparken!

Fantastic service
You feel like a special guest every time you enter the hotel. The staff is really making you feel welcome. I usually arrive early, but I still get a room. The rooms are modern with everything you need. The breakfast is excellent! The hotel is close to Oslo Met and the King's castle.

Dreadful stay
The location of the hotel is ok, but other than that, everything else was not pleasant. The rooms have basically no sound isolation in between floors and have some exposed pipes carrying hot water in accessible areas to children, so be careful if you have small kids or when you are having a shower. The most dreadful part was in fact the breakfast. On the first day we were sent off to another hotel as there was no space available, where we had to wait over 1 hour to be seated. After one hour, the hotel was empty of most items that they originally had and we had payed for as part of a Continental breakfast. On the second day, we had a 1h30 waiting time for food, after which we decided to leave (without having been served so far) as we were asking for our order to the staff for the last hour and after being seated for 1h30, no one could inform us on when we would be served, although everyone else arriving after us had been served and left. We were seating we a small child visibly complaining of stomach pains to everyone else that could see it. Overall very poor service. Our complaint was directed to an email address of someone that is not working for the next 3 weeks and that has no direct replacement and just sends you back in a loop. So, don't except decent service or to be valued as a customer, our opinion is worth nothing. Look for any other hotel in the same location.
