  Luxury Hotel In a Posh Suburb of Athens

  We chose this hotel for an overnight stay after a late arrival at Athens Airport and before proceeding to the Peloponnese. It turned out a most agreeable night and morning in a bright modern luxury hotel. In fact, Theoxenia Residence is a brand new annex to the Theoxenia Palace and shares the pool, restaurant, reception and other facilities with the Palace. The Location It is located in Kifissia, which is a posh neighborhood northeast of Athens centre, close to the motorway and 30 minutes by car from Athens Airport. The hotel, located in a quiet neighborhood, is surrounded by public parks, shopping streets with high-class boutiques, restaurants and bars. On the streets, you find a considerable number of Mercedes, BMW and Porsche cars. The Hotel Building & Grounds Theoxenia Palace is a classic grand hotel and Theoxenia Residence a modern annex. Between both buildings you find a large pool, terrace, spa and some function rooms. Everything looks bright and beautiful and is in excellent shape. The pool opens around 8:30 and is a beautiful place for a swim, for relaxing, for lunch or for a cocktail. The Rooms The rooms at the Residence are very spacious, bright modern and beautifully designed. There is a large marble bathroom with a bathtub/shower combination. Everything is immaticulately clean. Robes and slippers provided. Food & Beverage We did not have dinner in the hotel, because just steps from the front entrance, you find an abundance of restaurants. We opted for al fresco eating at Mezzaluna, which serves very nice Greek and crossover cuisine at low prices. Breakfast (included in the room rate) is buffet-style in the Palace, with eggs (fried, scrambled, boiled), sausages, Greek pastry (salty and sweet), fresh fruit, cold cuts, smoked salmon and breads, sweets etc. The only disappointment was that they did not serve fresh squeezed orange juice. Parking The hotel has limited curb parking on reserved spaces. However, we found curb parking just around the corner. Staff cares that you find a place for parking and the bellboy carries your bags from and to the car, whereever you park. Service Impeccable.

  As always .. Perfect

  Staying at any of theTheoxenia hotels in Kefalari(Kifissia), is a bet that is difficult to lose. I have used all three (House / Palace / Residences) of their available accommodations in different periods and several times. One word only: CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE for the incredible job! From the receptionists to the guys who help with the suitcases ... a great thumbs up to everyone. I would not change Theoxenia with anything in this area and generally in Athens. Large and clean rooms, impeccable service and the neighborhood is just beautiful! Bars, cafes and restaurants within a few meters. The park and the beautiful setting in Kefalari complete the picture for a great stay.

  Beautiful stay in Kifissia

  All staff very friendly. Breakfast buffet area nice and food was pleasant and enough, but waitering staff not always able to keep up when busy. Plates were missing (run out) and had to wait for clean plates to come out (happened more than once). Rooms were large and comfortable. WiFi good. Pool area and grounds lovely and clean - outdoor bar staff good (when they were there..). 5min walk to shopping areas of Kifissia. Always found parking in the surrounding area. Best service from John the concierge, always able to help. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Regards Costas

  Huge space for improvement

  Visited the hotel with my friend for a night as we wanted to relax and go for some shopping the following day. Primarily we chose the hotel for its spa as it seduced us. Upon check in staff was ok. Nikos proceeded with the check in efficiently and smoothly. No "wow" factor or any excitement. It was just a typical check in but is was ok. Bellman was also kind and offered us a smile. We had booked a grand suite through the hotel's site and no intermediary with OTA's. To my surprise their price was almost the same as booking though they do not provide any commission and it's pure profit. It's ok so far though I d expect a better price. To the point....the whole stay would rate it with 2 star maximum rate. On the pros I d add the spacious, relaxing and super clean room as well as their tasty options at their breakfast. Really a nice effort and I appreciated that. Nonetheless, huge space for improvement lies beneath... Firstly, the room was almost empty...Did not feel any luxury or any artistic touch...surprised that the entire wall where tv is set did not host any painting and the whole room was kinda "cold". The room did not offer iron board, iron and Nespresso station and I found it totally UNACCEPTABLE for a daily rate of 140 euros. Absolutely nothing! Also their mirror was not fitted on the wall properly, as a matter of fact you could hear it squeak and treble so vividly as it got affected by the external vibrations...woke up at least 3 times during the night...first time I though it was kinda an earthquake taking place... Linen set and towels were very standard and nothing special. Duvet and bed sheets were very commercial and their cotton threads were so average below 120 den. What literally disgusted me the most was their cheap and synthetic amenity line under the brand "My roots"...Oooh God...It's base notes were so smoky and so heavy and artificial...Did not use them apart from the soap bar which was ok. I wonder with what criteria did manageent team select that bath amenities...Ok did not expect any Armani Prive or Aqua di Parma that offer memorable sillage, but a Korres/Apivita choice would be more than ok. Last but not least, their spa and external patios radiated endless decay and neglect. Patios with not traces of plants, full of mud and dirty...Spa was way below average...No sensory welcome experience..sauna and steam room without any oil infusion, no water or any dry fruit or tea offered while Jacuzzi was not fully operational as it had a damage in one of its "engines".. It is obvious that I will not return....

  Not a value for money choice

  Unfortunately, the quality of the facilities didn't reflect the price, which was 110 for one night. The breakfast had a variety of choices but most of the food was not good or fresh. We paid the package with spa access. The jacuzzi wasn't working and we waited for an hour,till they told us they couldn't fix it. The room had ants in it. We asked for some refund but we didn't get it. The stuff was really kind and helpful, though! We wouldn't choose the hotel again.
