  Lovely place to stay

  Clean, comfortable room. Very friendly staff, service was attentive but not over the top. Food really good and excellent service continued in the restaurant. Very close to many lovely places in the Yorkshire Dales. Highly recommended, we will definitely return here.

  Sunday Lunch

  Visited 4th October for Sunday dinner. Sat in the bar as we had our dog with us. My daughter had the chicken goujons off the children's menu, great portion. I had the lamb whilst my husband had the beef. We were both pleased with our meals-little bit more veg would go down nicely. Puddings were fab. Only reason I've given a 4 not a 5, is lack of baby changing facilities which I think in this day and age is really quite poor. Changing my 13 week old son on the floor wasn't ideal at all, luckily I carry a travel mat in my changing bag but others may not. Just something to bare in mind.

  Great restaurant with Superb food

  Did a late booking for dinner having heard good reports. The menu wasnt reduced due to Covid which was great. The safety precautions were excellent with a one way system, table spacing and no sharing condiments. We felt very safe. The food was wonderful the Fish cakes with poached eggs were substantial and very tasty. The McKinnon filet steak was a triumph cooked to perfection along with a plain fillet steak again cooked perfectly. The trio of creme brulee had beautifully balanced flavours and finished the meal perfectly. This will definitely be our go to place when we are in the area, a real jewel in the dales

  Awesome stay

  Stayed this weekend very hospitable and made to feel very welcome. Arrived mid afternoon no lunch menu but was furnished with home made pate and terrine with beautiful warm bread washed down with cool Peroni. Had a short walk and came back for dinner, wonderful special fillet steak and sticky toffee pudding. Breakfast equally tasty. Felt completely safe at all times all staff very friendly. Did I say the good was stunning?

  Amazing food

  Me and my wife kath went for a meal on Xmas eve, it was a beautiful meal once again, Nigel is an amazing cook, and we had fantastic service from Ned, he was very professional in every way, so thank you very much, take care and stay safe. Malc.kath xxx
