Will return! Great location! We have loved our stay! A family of four, we stayed at the top floor and in was just what we needed! I read reviews about it being too hot?? We didnt find this as the weather was warm when we stayed, we left our windows open during both days and we had the best nights sleep! The bed in the main room must be a super king, very comfy! The bathroom is very spacious! Shame I never got to use the bath! As you get to the 3rd floor the ceilings get lower (it is an attic room so what else would you expect) my partner is 6ft3 and Yes he did nearly knock himself out once or twice (not fully unfortunately) he had not been put off. We arrived at 6pm and was greeted by a member of staff (very chatty and friendly) we was able to park right outside. You are literally a few minutes walk from the beach, we recommend walking at lest 5/10 mins from when you get to the beach if you like it quiet, the end close to amenities can be too busy. We also read about the WIFI being bad, our children of 13 and 9 didnt seem to have problem with the WIFI. They have put everything in place during COVID. We will 100% come back. Just a shame we wasnt able to have a cooked breakfast, but the Croissants went down a treat

Ungracious hostsFollowing a family emergency I called the Wylfa to try and amend our booking, or enquire to see if we could change rooms to allow us to take a small dog. I tried to call a number of times before I finally got through. When I did the woman was extremely rude and unhelpful and was just not interested in listening to my request. As I was unable to make any arrangements to amend my booking we arrived at the property as per the booking. The property is not manned and we had to phone a mobile number for the owner to come and check us in. The owner acknowledged she had been vague on the phone and blamed a poor signal - however this does not account for the rude and unhelpful response I had got. We were then asked to pay in full - despite full payment being taken by Expedia a week in advance. Despite me showing the owner the funds had already been reserved in my account she insisted I pay again - meaning that £620 had been taken from my account. She argued that this had nothing to do with her and it was my problem to sort - despite me using the booking method on their website. We had had a very stressful journey and at this point she could see I was very distressed and upset so I just paid and we were given our key to the family room. We were asked to text our breakfast order which would be left in a bag outside our room, and to text if we needed anything else. Safe to say I wouldnt have dreamt of texting for anything for fear of being subjected to another rude exchange. The property is not manned at all which I found really unwelcoming and impersonal. The room is tired and the bathroom fittings are a bit grubby and crusty. The mattress on the single bed is a very cheap one and in desperate need of replacement. It was completely collapsed on the side and I got very little sleep on both of the nights. Overall our stay started off on the wrong foot, the owner was rude and quite happy to argue her point rather than trying to help and resolve my payment issue and the room itself was uncomfortable. There was no WiFi access in the room either. If you are looking for a warm and welcoming reception with a room that warrants the price demanded then the Wylfa is not for you.

A lovely stayWe have just returned from a weekend stay at The Wylfa and it was lovely. In spite of everything being a little strange at the moment the host, Debbie was very helpful indeed. Gutted that there wasnt a hot breakfast but what we did get was enough to set us up for the day. We stayed in the garden room (room 6) and it was spacious, incredibly clean and the bed was comfortable. If I was nit picking the only thing I would say was that the room smelled a little musty. It looks as though the building has been an out building at some point but its been cleverly transformed. Maybe a reed diffuser of some kind would help to mask the smell but if youre reading this, please dont be put off by my comments. The bathroom was spotless but the shower lacked some power. Could only guess that this would be as its not in the main building. Overall ..... a lovely stay in difficult circumstances and the hosts are doing everything they can to make sure you are safe and have a good time. Would definitely return. Thank you

Can do betterWe have just returned from a road trip around north wales, during which we spent two nights at the Wylfa. The accommodation was clean but smelled damp, the location is good just a short walk to the harbor and its amenities. The hotel was let down by the breakfast that was provided which was poor given the price per night we were paying. We knew before hand that it was going to be continental breakfast, but a paper bag with contents given little thought was not good enough. No fresh tea or coffee provided with the breakfast no jam for the single croissant each, a low fat yogurt which tasted of artificial sugar. A cheap orange carton a choice of banana or apple and an alpen bar, no cereals or milk. During the road trip every other venue we stayed at provided quality choice, fresh drinks hot and cold, and a proper choice of continental breakfast or full English. Either delivered to the room or served in a designated area for the two of us, if there were ample space to do so. The Wylfa owners could and should do better even in these trying times. Didnt expect the world but expected much better than we got.
