  Cosy, Covid-secure, superb stay

  We loved our stay at The White Horse because it was warm, cosy, comfortable, had stylish, well-appointed rooms, took it's Covid precautions very seriously and the staff bent over backwards for us. We also completely fell in love with Womble, their sleepy friendly resident bear-dog.

  Shame About The Steak

  This hotel is very unassuming from the outside but pleasantly decorated, with quirky original features although a bit of a maze depending on your room number. The bed is the biggest and most comfortable ever slept. The room was large and airy and spotlessly clean. Ample supply of drink items in the bag supplied but would be helpful to have a spoon/stirrer included. Booked for our evening meal. Table was ready at designated time, although next too a table of 6 very noisy clients, couldnt really chat to my partner. Our starters, calamari and the halloumi fritters were delicious and plentiful. Sadly our steaks were such a disappointment, over cooked and very dry, the new potatoes and green vegetables were bland and flavourless. Noticed at least 3 other tables of diners expressed disappointment with their main course, these comments were passed to Georgia who spent a lot of time apologising to the guests, I therefore did not add to these comments and just left most of our dinners. Huge appreciation should go to Georgia who was rushing around the whole time, juggling all the tables and smiling the whole time whilst listening to the complaints. She is a total asset. Breakfast was fabulous, the wild mushrooms were delicious as was the full English. All in all an enjoyable stay, just a few little tweaks needed.

  Keep trying

  The hotel staff were willing and helpful but didnt succeed in giving us a great customer experience Stayed for a few nights to visit family, room was small as expected but had all we needed however it needed a good clean Breakfast a disaster every morning poor food confused orders Bar area nice and welcoming

  Another lovely stay

  We love this hotel and decided to book again for a short break just to get away from it all! Obviously not the same is it was, but felt very safe and room was exceptionally clean. Menu was reduced but still good. Was the perfect short break to recharge batteries and go for some great walks in the Surrey Hills as well as wine tasting at Denbies cloesby. Looking forward to our next visit

  Very pleasant overnight stay

  We had the pleasure of staying at The White Horse as a gift of a groupon voucher . The staff were extremely pleasant , the room Was warm , clean and the bed was so comfortable . We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast . Both meals were of a good standard . The staff were very accommodating with allowing us to park for an extra hour after check out . We do hope to return . A great groupon deal .
