Beautiful little courtyard3 of us and a small dog stayed last night at this absolutely lovely place. We were met by the nicest gentleman, who gave us a warm welcome. The pub itself is friendly, but when we were led into the courtyard we couldn't believe it! Around 6 gorgeous little rooms that had been converted so well from stables. They were nipping clean, with lovely quality linen and towels. Tea coffee, biscuits available. Hairdryer and lovely big T.V. Everything you would need. Beautiful, colourful pots in the courtyard, with bistro tables and chairs for each room. There was also a gated garden at the back, which was perfect for the dog. Breakfast was lovely. The bacon in particular was really nice. All cooked just right. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the gentleman running the place made us feel so welcome, including the dog.

Hidden gem..Absolutely lovely place, stayed in a quaint court yard, room was clean and spacious and perfect for what we needed, very friendly and local welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast we paid extra and was worth every penny, cooked to perfection so 10 out 10 all round..

Perfect place to stayThis place is ideal for seeing everything that Ripon has to offer. The rooms may be small but they have everything you could want for your stay. Breakfasts can be pretty big if that's what you want, or as small as you want

Very DisappointedOn arrival room was very cold, radiator not working, enquired with staff and told to get an electric heater out of a wardrobe. Usual kettle and drinks provided on a set of drawers, but had to move kettle to opposite side of the room onto the floor to an available plug to boil it on the carpet. No bedside cabinet on my partners side, had to put his overnight trinkets (glasses, phone, watch) on the floor. Mattress was hard and uncomfortable although linen was clean. Overall a poorly presented room, far too expensive for the quality of the room. Because we had booked through a third party and not direct breakfast wasnt included but we could pay £15 for two if we wanted, having smelt it cooking in the morning (greasy smell) we decided to give it a miss and move on. Parking was 1 available very tight space after the staff had taken up the other 3. Would not recommend.

Dog Poo ParadiseFor the price I paid for two nights, the room was basic but comfortable. Anymore than the £52 I paid then I'd be feeling a bit disgruntled. No WiFi but luckily excellent phone signal on giffgaff. Comfortable double bed with free view TV. Small compact double room. Poor ventilation - after a shower damp sits on the wall despite keeping the door closed as much as possible. Decent storage space for a couple of days. Electric shower is fairly decent and you get a generous tea tray selection. Nothing to rave and shout about but okay for the price. Unfortunately I have had a couple of problems with the proprietor. Firstly on the first morning the fire alarm went off and it took nearly 20 minutes before he deactivated it - not a good thing to experience as it disturbed business calls that I had to carry on outside. He didn't check on anyone's welfare nor apologise for the inconvenience. No communication with staff... I was just about to leave at 10am when to my surprise the housekeeper thought I was only here for one night! I had to notify her my stay was for 2 nights! Then I was greeted by an unmuzzled GREAT DANE! Which in the end was held back from coming towards me. Not last but not least as I got out of my car in the unlit car park on my second evening, I had the joyous occasion of standing in a huge heap of Dog Poo... I called the proprietor who did in the end reluctantly help me with a mop and bucket of bleach and water for my shoe but was very abrupt and rude. I'd certainly think twice about staying here again and pay the little bit extra to avoid the displeasures endured. Happy to take my money but no customer service or people skills. The OYO customer service is about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Overall a 6.5/10 for me.
