  Nice hotel, but not perfect

  Modern design hotel with beautiful view, the room was amazing. But we choose this place for celebrating birthday because of open space sky swimming pool and finally it was forbidden to swim there. I called in advance and asked is that available, hotel staff said yes. But that was available only for pictures. Disappointment. We also had dinner in hotels buffet. Its not bad but doesnt worth the cost. The best things in Westin is room with the city view.

  Unworthy stay experience

  The services provided is unworthy for the rate of booking. The breakfast restaurant is in a mess due to the lack of staffs and the hotel is not recommended if you prefer excellent service rather than location.

  Horrible service

  The hotel enjoys an excellent location near the center of the downtown. My room was upgraded to a suite with gorgeous view, although it was foggy most of the time. But the dinning services were consistently terrible. During breakfast, I was never asked about coffee or tea or high chair for my baby. Food variety was good though. But the environment was like a farm market. The most horrible thing happened when I was going to take dinner at 9:20 pm. The 3 restaurants at 53rd to 55th floor had no staff even if I had waited for 5 minutes at each entrance. Then I realized that two waitress sitting about 3 meters away on 55th floor were chatting. I asked them why they did not even greet us and let me wait for so long. I thought they were guests instead of waitress. They said because the kitchen was closed. Even if the kitchen was closed, they could stand up and tell me not to wait. Even worse, after filing an complaint, the hotel manager called me and explained that the hotel was only able to communicate with the restaurant because the restaurant was contracted out. This uwas outrageous and was a typical excuse to blame outside contractors. . It was a part of Westin. Westin should control the quality or not to advertise it inside hotel elevator. I was very disappointed by this property!

  Impressive Hospitality

  I spent my birthday alone in Westin Chongqing, and their amazing staff contributed to making my birthday night unforgettable. Although I encountered some unanticipated problems in the first phase, their club manage Leon and duty manage Anthony made an effort to investigate, and re-arrange everything to make it beyond expectation. Genuine thanks to these two gentlemen. Turning to the physical side of this property, great location allows it to reach popular destinations in a walkable distance. There are several restaurant around serving palatable hotpots, deserving to have a try. The general decors in the room are modern and friendly, with scenic views of the river side. Staff are caring and helpful as well, under such an excellent management team. Overall, it is highly advisable to set Westin Chongqing as one of your destinations if you expect to have a surprising stay.

  Sets the standard for Westins - Excellent Location

  Very good location in the middle of the city. The check-in staff was very friendly and provided good restaurant and sightseeing recommendations. The rooms and lobby are quite new (stayed in mid-2020) and features a framed Hermes scarf in every room, which is supposed to be a "fun fact." If you are a Gold or Platinum member, you will get upgraded to a very high up room with a great view of the river, which, unfortunately, is just dark brown due to silt, mud, and other natural causes (NOT pollution!) The member lounge is also pretty decent. This is the only place with unlimited Aqua Panna mineral water, so drink to your content. These typically go for 15-20 RMB each so get your money back by drinking glass bottled water. Lastly, the view on the upper deck 53rd floor is AMAZING. A lot of people come to take pictures apparently. Check out the photo below. Overall, the hotel is definitely pricier than local options, BUT it is still VERY affordable if you're used to hotel rates in large cities. It was only about $100-120 a night.
