    Diseño y estilo

    Este hotel de diseño moderno y confortable, con vistas únicas al lago, es creo uno de los mejores hospedajes de Lugano, vale la pena visitarlo y hospedarse si se puede en el, para disfrutar de una habitación, moderna, súper confortable y con una vista única. El hotel cuenta también con un magnífico Spa y un excelente restaurante. Muy amigable también para hospedarse con niños.

    A small but great hotel with a fantastic view of Lugano. The room was very modern and nicely decorated. The staff was very polite and courteous, the food in the restaurant was exceptional. We could even use an E Smart for free during the whole stay. We'll be back for sure ...

    Honeymoon disappointment - Food major issue for allergy sufferers

    We booked The View for our honeymoon weekend in a middle of a pandemic. However we felt extremely let down with the difficulty and stress caused trying to eat safely at The View and tainted a special event for us both. On the positive, the junior suite we booked did live up to expectations of luxury and provide one of the best views in Lugano. The only minor issue with the room is the lighting e.g. there isn't a kill switch at night for the large telephone screen and iPad with the toilet and bathroom lights which are motion activated. We didn't get the offered Prosecco + fruit on arrival which we brushed off. However it was so difficult just to eat. I have a serious food allergy, normally most hotels + restaurants appreciate advanced knowledge so they can prepare dishes and menu in advance. In this case The View received 3 emails in advance of our stay in addition to their personalisation check in service which also includes allergies and dietary preferences. So therefore our expectations were high as they were asking about food implied that they could easily deliver a stress free experience. When we arrived early evening after our wedding, we just wanted room service. There was nothing on the menu that I could eat, after some complaints they adapted a pizza to eat. During this conversation we asked whether they could deliver their wine paring menu without the ingredients I was allergic to, or provide a romantic dinner menu for eating in the restaurant or room service the next night. Which they didn't do. We wanted to stay in the resort, happily spend additional money here but they didn't seem to get it. The second night, new covid restrictions kicked in so all restaurants closed at 7pm in Lugano. So we asked at 5.45pm whether we could eat in the restaurant, had they prepared something to eat? It took 2hrs for a menu to be prepared. All the allergen information which had been prepared within the original menu was removed and included items that I was allergic to. We didn't have access to the chef and staff asked what we wanted - how are we meant to know what the ingredients and training the chef has? By the time we had a menu it was too late to eat anywhere else, again the simplest thing to eat again was a modified pizza, which arrived undercooked. All I wanted a romantic meal with my new husband either in our room or in the restaurant this didn't happen despite advance knowledge and 24hrs notice of requests instead it was stressful trying to work out where we could get food if the hotel couldn't deliver me anything to eat. Breakfast was similar experience. It was difficult and frustrating e.g. I was provided gluten free items which contained milk products or weren't labelled correctly. The waiters did not listen and twice I received items I didn't order. So rather then spending the day at the spa, we left early as we couldn't guarantee I could eat for lunch / dinner. At check out we spoke to receptionist she was more concerned that other guests didn't hear the conversation than listening and resolving the problem. There was zero attempt to rectify our experience e,g. removal of pizzas from our bill, discount on next stay or more importantly conversation of we didn't get this right but we plan to have an allergy friendly menu for guests that ask.... We have waited a week to post this, as we were told The View's manager would contact us, to discuss our experience as we would like to return but sadly this hasn't been done either. Its frustrating as they could have very easily delivered an amazing experience for us and we would be raving about the brilliant honeymoon we had and would be planning on returning to the hotel in the coming year. Missed opportunity.

    Amazing hotel and staff

    Our stay for Christmas 2020 (3 nights) was unforgettable. The staff was professional and very welcoming. We were upgraded to the most amazing suite we had ever seen. Dining at the View was a great experience for us (special menus) and our children (bistrot menu). Thanks to the great team !

    15 Gault & Millau points Restaurant was closed

    We were really disappointed by not letting us know during the booking call that the restaurant was closed. Without the restaurant the hotel was for sure not worth the prize. The Spa facilities were kind of o.K. But there were no additional towels in the sauna are nor anything else like massage sponge, massage oil and so on. For sure not enough for the high prize.
