  An excellent place to stay, a real gem

  This is a beautiful place. The staff were excellent and everything was very clean and well kept We stayed for 3 nights on a short break whilst exploring both the moor and coast. We couldnt have asked for better food both breakfast and the evening meals we had. Will definitely be returning

  So very disappointing

  Although I have not been to Turtley Mill for a while I have always had really good meals in the past both. Booked last Sunday for group of six, family and friends, as it might be last time we could all get together. We had Sunday roasts, which were tasteless, and the roast potatoes almost inedible. The veg was OK but small portion for 5 people to share. I did not complain at the time as a friend was kindly paying the bill but I had chosen the venue. This is the first time I have ever posted a review, so sorry it was negative.

  lovely weekend away

  We decided to have a few nights away and we have here stayed and eaten here before. We havent been for a few years. this was probably our best visit and all the staff very very courteous, pleasant and welcoming. Very good Covid 19 precautions in place and all laid our very well considering the unusual building. Lovely room, some nice touches. Great breakfasts and 2 very nice evening meals and good value i must say that Sams professionalism (perhaps trained at a luxury hotel) at how she runs the front of house is outstanding and comes across through all the staff that the whole place is run so well we will definitely be back again soon

  Post Christmas Lunch

  My family and I visited for lunch today. We have been fans of the pub for many years and also the Ship under the Bunning ownership. We havent been for a couple of years though and were very much looking forward to a post walk lunch. We were not to be disappointed. Despite being overwhelmed by walk ins on a low booking day, the service was excellent, attentive and pleasantly informal. The food was superb - highlights were Scotch Egg, Steak pie and the duck. Overall a fab experience in challenging times. Well done.

  Pleasant Boxing Day

  Visited this restaurant on Boxing Day for a family meal - very impressed - social distancing was excellent as its a big venue - the food was good particularly the steak pie - nice setting if you are willing to drive
