Golden Tulip Should not be affiliated to Tulip InnI was put in the Tulip Inn by Kenya Air due to a delayed flight. The staff were overwhelmed. The rooms were basic, not appealing and need maintenance. I couldnt find a remote for the air conditioning. My colleague returned to his room from the reception and there was a man in his bed with a woman. His room had been given to someone else. The food was average. Shame on Kenya Air for subjecting us to this hotel

Not Worth the price - Wasted all my moneyI went there in December. Rooms are congested & small and the hotel is like a hostel where you have to walk a lot to your room. I left room because i did not find it suitable for me +for the price. However, as it was online booking so manager refused to payback the money for entire duration. Hotel has no lifts, No centralized AC. Please do not book online. Try to visit the place and then decide if it good for you as well as the money.

Budget hotel with high prices and poorly trained staff.I have stayed at many hotels and I don't think I have ever given a review below 3 stars. Well my luck finally run out. The Tulip by Ave Maria Hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It is a sub par budget hotel with 3 and 4 star hotel prices, a poorly trained staff and penchant for upcharging their customers The hotel is extremely out dated with very uncomfortable beds. Not enough hot water in my room. Their king bed is made of 2 twin mattress with a king mattress cover. The mattresses eventually pushes apart and you end up in the gap between the two twin matresses. This makes for a very uncomfortable sleep and is beyond ridiculous. I will not stay at this hotel if it is the last hotel in town. The customer service reps are beyond rude, not properly trained and unprofessional. They seem to be under a lot of stress which is understandable because the hotel premisses and ameneties seemed poorly managed. My friend and I got to the hotal around 11 PM after a delayed trip from Cape coast. The only guest service member on duty was asleep on the floor right behind the counter. He looked disoriented after we woke him up. I should have known it was going to go downhill after that. We were upgraded to services we did not ask for even though I explicitly stated what we wanted. The "half sleeping rep" booked us into a room we didn't ask for because he couldn't get the doors to the other rooms to open. I got a call at 6 AM to clarify my room booking becuase the morning staff and the night staff were on different pages as to why my friend and I were in the wrong room and why the name of the booking is different from the name on the credit card...(A wake up call that I didn't ask for or needed).. This didn't need to be discussed at 6 AM and is beyond ridiculous.. When we came down to checkout, we were told we had to pay an extra $30 for extra guest. When I protested, and complained about not being informed of this at check-in (even though I explicitly stated at the time of check-in/walk-in that I wanted 1 room with two beds for two guests when we were at the counter). The half asleep rep bungled our on-prem booking. The manger on tudy informed me he will charge the extra fees regardless. After they presented the receipt and my credit card back to me, I took my card and refused to sign the receipt. That's when things got real. The manager who goes by name Ekow, instructed the guard at the gate to lock the gate and prevent us from leaving the premises until I signed the receipt. I couldn't believe a hotel staffer will attempt to hold customers hostage over a charge dispute. Anyway, I signed and was allowed to leave. This is a really poor choice of hotel. I have stayed at Fiesta Royal, Movenpick, Accra city among other hotels and have always had excellent service so I know this is not a systemic issue across the hotel industry in Ghana. Nonetheless I hope this serves as a cautionary tale to anyone who considers a stay at the Tulip by Ave Maria hotel in Accra Ghana.

MediocreEntrance and corridors old and work out. Interior rooms small and dark but show signs of upgrading. Alarms kept going off making it hard to rest. Called by Staff when meals ready. Staff are very helpful upgrading this to a 2 and a half star lodging.
