  Great stay, super large bed, friendly staff and when they finish the refurn it will be even better

  Refurbished reception and restaurant, my room on fist flloor and although not refurbished was very good with lovely big bed, Only the bathroom was tired. Food selection was great and food was good Would stay again

  Below average, below expectations

  Rooms are undergoing some renovations including air conditioning units. This does give the impression of staying in rather less than acceptable accommodation. Unfinished plasterwork and reams of cabling running through the bathroom for starters. Was expecting a better than average breakfast but sadly mistaken. Cooked items were greasy and dried up, scrambled eggs burnt and no pastries as advertised on the £15 menu. Overall a disappointing visit for the price tag.

  Lovely meal in Bollywood Brasserie

  Tried here on the eat out to help out scheme and were pleased we did. Initially our order was lost but there were apologies and a complimentary pickle tray with poppadoms to compensate. The service was good and the food was superb. The portions were very good and I was able to bring half home for dinner the next day after still having a great feed. I had Asian lamb and fig Seehk kehbabs followed by Keema Mutter and rohti.My wife had potato and cauliflower Asian starter followed by chicken burger. We had a couple of drinks and even before discount the food price was reasonable. Well worth a visit.

  Great stay and meal

  I stay here regularly for work and havent been for a while. The place has been updated and has a new restaurant. Bollywood Brasserie. No idea what to expect but wow. Best curry Ive had in ages and the best peshwari naan Ive ever had. Highly recommend people going and having a meal, you wont regret it.

  Meeting

  Just finished a four day private course organised by an external company to the Holiday Inn. So the review is about the Hotel not the course. Firstly the cleanliness of the hotel was of quite a poor standard. The toilets were not cleaned for most of the duration of the course as toilet roll was all over the floor. The conference room is obviously used as an events room as balloons were hanging from the ceiling from previous events. And none of the linen on the tables were changed for the entire stay. Also the gardener wasn't made aware that a course was taking place as he thought using a leaf blower underneath the window was quite apt on one morning. Can't comment on the bedrooms but hope they are of a better standard of cleaning
