A wee gemLovely place to stay with lots of character, owners very friendly, good breakfast lovely place to get away from the hustle and bustle. Definitely on my shortlist of places to stay in Bristol area. A well deserved 5stars

Overpriced & unfriendlyThe room decor and bathroom were well below what you'd expect at this price range. It looked like they'd just dropped in whatever second hand furniture was lying around. For example, the wardrobe was wedged between the wall and the bedside table - they'd ticked the box of having a wardrobe there, but you couldn't open the door to put anything in it. We arranged an early arrival in advance for me to rest for an hour before going out (i have health issues and need to regularly rest). When we arrived, we were met by a very unfriendly woman who left us standing outside in the (light) rain while she finished her phone call. She refused to let us come in, said that if we did she'd have to charge us an extra £30 to sit down, and that there wasn't really anywhere for us to sit and it wasn't convenient for them. All of this after we'd specifically arranged this in advance. This caused problems for our whole day. In the end we were so uncomfortable we decided to go and spend the night in Bristol at a friend's house instead. We asked for a small partial refund to reflect the pre-arranged early arrival that wasn't available, and for the breakfast that we didn't have. We were promised that this would happen but are still chasing a few weeks later, and not getting any replies. There are much better places nearby in this price range.

Where do I start...?Started well with a friendly welcome after a long drive. The room however was disappointing. It most certainly wasnt luxurious. Large dark stain on the carpet was the first thing that caught my eye. Mildew on the bath tiles and a shower that trickled. Seriously out of date and to be honest a bit shabby. Then the bed. The mattress was comfortable but the pillows were so wafer thin and old. However for me the worst part of the bed was the over powering smell of cleaning detergent. It gave me a head ache it was so strong. All in all was well below the standards one expects in 2018. I was dreading being asked how my night was in the morning but luckily I wasnt asked. I didnt stay for breakfast so cant comment on that but the over all view was one of mess. Dirty dog chewed slippers and a feeling i was randomly dropped into someones house as an unexpected guest. Not a bed and breakfast. Its easy to fix these problems and I think the owners would do well to visit some other local B&Bs for a bit of inspiration. Sorry....
