Sadly this hotel has gone down hill, the whole place needs a refit and revamp. Bedding was poor quality and well worn. We were in the room with the balcony at the front of the hotel, carpets were threadbare with holes in the bottom of the doors and broken locks on the balcony doors. There was also a live band on one of the two nights we stayed, which we were not told about on our booking nor when we arrived. Staff knew of our plans to leave early but still failed to mention the live band. We have stayed here for many years but there has sadly been a deterioration in the building and furnishings. Ive given the Thames Hotel a one star rating for the good breakfast and the lovely staff. Sadly the time has come for us to find another venue whilst visiting relatives in the area.

Booked one night stay here for myself, son and partner as we were staying overnight after attending a funeral. I booked a family room which was one double bed and 2 single beds in separate areas with a wooden sliding door between them. The room was clean, but in desperate need of a refurb. It's like walking into your nan's house. There was a dark stain on the carpet and carpet was fraying threads in parts. There was a big light in the area where the single beds were, but 4 small wall lamps in the double bedroom and the lighting wasn't great for getting ready doing hair and make up etc. Towels and soaps were provided, although you couldn't swing a cat in the bathroom. It was the hottest day ever, we had been out in the sun most of the day, had a drink outside the hotel bar and had dinner in the Trevi restaurant in the evening. We were all done in by 9 o clock and headed back to the room. I am fully aware that the hotel can't help the weather, but the room was like a sauna. We had all the windows wide open, tossing, turning, getting irritable, until we eventually found a small fan at the back of the wardrobe. We then slummed it big time. All three of us laid width ways on the bed, we put the fan on top of an upside down drawer which we took out of one of the bedside cabinets, then placed them on top of the dressing table chair so the fan was at the right height to cool us all down a little bit. Through the night, my partner and son both ended up sleeping on the floor with a couple pillows each and no quilts because it was cooler to sleep on the carpet. We got up early the next day, all showered and checked out because the heat was just unbearable. I didn't realise that breakfast was included in the price of the room, so we had a full english in the restaurant which was really nice and quick service. Not sure whether I would book again to stay, but the bar, restaurant, outside seating area and location are all lovely.

    The Bar, Restaurant and staff

The service at the bar& restaurant from Travis and Veronica is outstanding, They made us all feel welcomed, relaxed and nothing at all was too much trouble. In the restaurant Luca is an amazing chef who's food is just absolutely delicious. How have we not found this little gem in Maidenhead before, thanks to eat out to help out this is now our favourite place for a night out.

    Rude manageress

The rudest woman ever, not fit for work. Shouting at us to sign in, Which we did, waited for service until we had to go and look for her , she was laughing at us and was very sarcastic, we left without being served We will never return here.
