    Room for improvement

    Visited for lunch on a Sunday, pre ordered with a group of friends. Very pleasant staff however a bit disappointed with the meal. A tip for the chef, when serving a big party its essential that the plates are hot or even very hot. My fish was very nice, chips were a bit bland and the garden peas stone cold. My wifes chicken was chewy no bread sauce or stuffing. Desserts were ok but nothing to write home about. So to sum up a very ordinary pub lunch.

    Sunday Lunch

    Had a working weekend and stopped here for Sunday Lunch on the way home. We all ordered the Sunday Lunch, I had the beef, the meal,was nice but the beef was very fatty and didn't eat it after trying repeatedly to separate the fat from the beef.

    Helpful welcoming staff

    We stayed at The Stag as it was a convenient location just outside of Stratford-upon-Avon and we were going to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Staff were most helpful and arranged a taxi into town £12. Room was cozy and quaint with beams . Full English breakfast was excellent! Good value and would stay again.

    Very comfortable English pub

    We stayed here for one night on a short trip to Stratford. Booked direct with the hotel through their website. Young staff, very welcoming, helpful and efficient. Stayed in room 5 which is spacious with a very comfortable bed, sofa and large TV. Tea & coffee making facilities with lots of unusual extras. Plenty of storage space if you're staying longer. Despite being right on the main road the noise was minimal. We enjoyed a nice dinner in the restaurant as well as an inclusive breakfast the following morning. A really enjoyable experience.

    Off the cuff visit

    Called on on the off chance that we could get in. Lovely log fire to welcome you and the staff were also warm and welcoming. Lovely liver and onion's and a roast chicken dinner. We will go back and try more off the menu. Fancy one of the pizza's from a wood fired oven.
