  Unsafe hotel - be very careful

  We booked to stay here for 18 days - still here at the moment. This hotel is not safe for your belongings. Since we checked in, we noticed that the in-room safe was not working. Despite repeated complaints, it was not fixed. One day, we noticed that a forex card was stolen, and subsequently misused leading to a loss of ~1500 pounds. Magically, the safe was repaired the next day post us complaining. We have reported the matter to the police, and also are demanding a payment for the amounts from the hotel. The hotel is refusing to accept liability as they claim their investigation and interviews of the staff didn't yield any results showing staff was involved. Various other things about the place were not upto taste. Will detail this out eventually in a more comprehensive review when I have the time. But this stay has left a very sorry taste for us.

  Happy visit

  Clean and well set up modern apartments. We felt welcomed and left our luggage with the front desk whilst we explored Birmingham. Our luggage was safe and at all times we felt safe. Great location and easy to find. Well equipped rooms with washer/dryer. Would recommend this place and would return.

  Highly recommend. Will stay here again.

  We booked this location due to price and proximity to shops. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the apartment, its high standards of cleanliness, great facilities and short distance from restaurants and shops. The dishwasher, power shower and great quality towels were a lovely bonus. We would all stay here again. Thank you.

  Very safe and comfortable

  As a solo female traveller I can sometimes feel a little unsafe or intimidated when Im in cities I dont know. The Spires is gated on all sides with a reception area and every door requires a fob or code to enter so I felt extremely safe. The apartment was the perfect size, bed was large and comfortable and the view from the 5th floor gave me a wonderful sunrise. The only negative was the noise from drunk teenagers at 2.45am who howled at the moon for an hour but I dont think I can blame that on the hotel. Unless it was them... I would definitely stay here again.

  Excellent accommodation

  Great position - very close to both town and The Mailbox which has a good choice of restaurants. The apartment was clean and tidy if only needing a little attention in the bathroom due to age. Very secure getting in and out.
