Great place for our New YearA nice little hotel in the mountains beyond Munnar. We saw in the New Year there and what a great programme they laid on. Scintillating drummers from a nearby village, graceful Bharat Natyam dancers, (and singers who did their best with a misbehaving sound system), entertained a crowd of guests and staff into the new decade. But the crowd made up for any lapses, and soon the drummers and the crowd were as one, dancing together in the open air and into the early hours of the new year. And all with hardly an alcoholic drink among the crowd. The hotel is "dry", but you can get drinks from the official government liquor store down the road ... in Kerala the sale of alcohol is a nationalised business, owned and run by the people of the state. There is little light pollution in Chinnakanal, the hamlet 25-odd kms from Munnar where this hotel sits, so you get some fantastic views of the stars at night. It is a peaceful stop in the mountains. But, but, but ... to get there you have to negotiate some of the roughest roads we came across in India. The awful state was due partly to the massive floods in Kerala in 2019 and partly to the fact that the road is being upgraded so it becomes the main four-lane highway between Munnar and Madurai soon. Until it is completed travellers will have to put up with being shaken to the bone. Also remember that the hotel is built on the side of a hill, so there are inclines and steps at every turn, not good if you have problems negotiating steps.

Nice locationThe location of Sienna village is nice, away from the city crowd. The grounds are quite big and there is a lot of space for families to enjoy. However, the resort itself is slightly old, and the maintenance and cleanliness is not 100%. We had booked the suite with the jacuzzi, and at first the jacuzzi wasn't working. However, the problem was resolved by the staff quite efficiently. While the jacuzzi experience was good, it did not feel that we got enough value for the money we had paid (around 12k). We also booked a spa, and our experience was pretty average. The spa ambience was a bit lacking. One of the high points of the stay was the evening campfire, and drum performance by local artists.

Quick Vacation Trip but horrible hotel - Stay Away! This hotel is old and unkempt. Food served was poor and service too was undesirable. Rather than making efforts to improve, they try to dispute with the guest. There are much better hotels to stay in Munnar.

FABULOUS SERVICE AND NICE SETTINGSThis property is to be reckoned for its services, right from front desk till you exit. The resort id situated in a nice valley facing a water body, though distant. The architecture is worth mentioniong as optimal utilisation of space has been made. The cottages are well placed and so also the interiors. The wash roos are big and clean. The brekfast was good. The service is the highlight ,especially that of Manikantan of F&B. Definitely recommended

A breath of fresh air!!!To begin with, to me this was a much needed 2 day get away from a heavily restricted daily life in this Covid times. I didn't have much expectations on my stay yet needed a breath of fresh air and to be closer to nature after being in a state of impaired mobility for so long.. Being a Kochite, Munnar is the best choice with its proximity, cool and green ambience plus the ongoing discounts on stay available. Moreover I was curious how hotels and resorts have implemented the new "normals". Staff adhered to the Covid protocols at the arrival and check-in was smoothly done. My room was spacious and neatly arranged. Since the hotel just opened after the Covid there were only 2 rooms occupied including mine. Gardens were getting ready and it seemed staff were low in number. However service was prompt and polite and the food was delicious indeed. Several items on the menu were not available and restaurant staff clarified that it is due to low occupancy and it was only few days operation after a long break. I trust the missing items should be available by now as was informed by the service staff. The days I stayed was mixed bag in terms of weather with spells of sun shine and drizzles. However it was perfect for short stroll around the quiet neighbourhoods or a quick walk through the nearby well kept cardamom plantation ( resort owns this ) or watching the lazy afternoon drizzle with a cup of hot coffee. Resort is located on a hilltop gives you excellent valley view and breathtaking sunrise. Surprisingly road to the resort was very good and wasn't even a slight issue for my hatchback. Overall an excellent and peaceful stay worth every penny!
