    High Country Experience

A wonderful location, with extensive vistas of tree clad hills, set the scene for a relaxing, delightful early summer country break. Do try to get a balcony room, as you're almost guaranteed visits from the wonderful wildlife - king parrots and sulphur-crested cockatoos. Lots of other wildlife abound at this resort, and it's a joy to see them in their natural habitat. The room we had was clean, comfortable and quiet, with plenty of facilities if you want to prepare your own meals. The restaurant makes use of local produce and caters for vegans and vegetarians and it has some stunning views towards Mount Buller. I had some excellent dishes, including local steak and pork. Brayden and Lizzie were excellent in taking care us at meal times, very cheerful and helpful. The resort hadn't long been open after the Covid lockdown and it was coping well. We felt very safe with their care and organisation.

    Great stay

What a great hotel in the middle of the high country. We had a standard room which was lovely, a very comfortable bed, clean and functional bathroom and a small kitchenette area which had everything you needed to make breakfast or lunch. For dinner we ate in the excellent restaurant. The grounds of this hotel are stunning, beautifully kept and the wildlife is amazing. Its an great place to sit back and relax. Staff are very helpful. The covid cleaning practices at this hotel where the highest of any hotel we stayed at during our trip. All kitchen utensils and other equipment were sealed in plastic bags, if opened the staff know to to clean and it also gives you peace of mind that everything has been properly cleaned. Excellent. Would recommend a stay and well be back.

    Still pay full price,

for closed activities . Its interesting that advertising still has photos of spa, entertainment room on booking.com to entice you too book, but are not open because why, covid. buts thiers no covid at all in regional areas. Also the managers told me they are short staffed. But the silly situation of our family booked 5 nights here, we where only give one day rations like coffee / tea. Toliet paper etc, we had to keep ring reception and get more plus new towels, as no servicing as villa appartment. Why not put all requirements for 5 night stay. I am a silver Accorr member so we did get our complimentary drinks and meal discounts. thankyou

    A scenic stay

I experienced a wonderful three night stay at the end of November at the Sebel Merijig. The room was large enough with a comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and small kitchenette. The hotel was quiet and the grounds were magnificent. Lots of beautiful scenery surrounding the hotel made for some pleasant morning and afternoon walks . I would definitely return for another visit.

    Just love this place

This was my 10th visit to this property. We just love it. Due to covid 19 the sauna and spa were not open but that was fine. Only 1 staff member cleans the rooms so check in is at 3.00pm. All items in your room are sealed for protection so that you know it is all clean. The cleaning staff work very hard and it was great to see a few regulars (Dot and Rhonda) they do a wonderful job. The food at the restaurant was great. We stayed 2 weeks and ate there 10 times. The service was great, Lizzie and Ciara were fantastic. They made everyone feel welcome. We will definitely be returning next year, to see the wonderful wild life every night.
