  A neat, chintzy, period house with a charming owner

  We had stayed here several years in a row 2010 - 2015 but had not been back until this past week. We loved it then and were not disappointed this time round. Michael is a laid-back host and a fine cook (breakfast) and the location could not be better, close to town and to the beach. This is an old house and has a couthie atmosphere, with lots of books and bric a brac. It's not the InterCon but great place to relax. Suitable COVID precautions were in place and apart from one antimaskers (there's alway somebody!) we felt safe and secure. Definitely will be back.

  Perfect Time

  My wife and I visited the Scranton Seahorse Inn as part of the BandBsforVets program. Michael greeted us all with a social distance reception of beer, wine, cheese and crackers. It was perfect weather for an outdoor gathering even in November. We got to know him and a few of the other guest. Our room was just as we saw from the pictures - quiet, clean and very inviting. Michael had several suggestions for dinner and we decided on Italian. Breakfast was again socially distanced which was very challenging for him to have to manage two separate sittings. He certainly made it look easy and we had Belgian Waffles with an apple, cranberry, and walnut topping. Absolutely fantastic. I know he had alternate plans as I overheard there was someone with a nut allergy. Their breakfast looked delicious as well. A stop in the shops of Madison and a walk along the Long Island Sound finished our stay.

  5 Star Romantic Anniversary Trip

  Stayed here 12/19-12/21 in the Madison Getaway suite with my partner to celebrate our 1 year anniversary together. Due to Covid we couldn't travel to a tourist destination (ie. NYC, Vegas). So we decided to do a weekend getaway close to our families to kick off the holiday season. I couldn't find any other B&B that offered a room with a jacuzzi/jet tub in the room for a decent price (a must for me haha) besides Scranton Seahorse Inn. All the other CT hotels are charging $200+ per night for a jet tub room. Michael, the innkeeper, has been offering specials and reasonable prices plus a gourmet 3 course breakfast for his guests. We loved everything about our stay; from the tasty breakfasts (and fresh squeezed cranberry/orange juice), to Michael's hospitality, to his 2 dalmations, to the oversized jacuzzi for two, to the fireplace, it was a dream come true for any couple to relax! Michael provided us with firewood everyday and gifted us with complimentary processco on our anniversary with a sentimental card. Quality service, accommodations and hospitality. The B&B is conveniently located close to town so you can walk into town easily. You won't be disappointed.

  A lovely staycation for a pregnant wife.

  This trip was a mini staycation as we live in CT and my wife is 8 months pregnant as of the time of the stay. We got the Jacuzzi room on the first floor. The room is set up to look like an older room from decades past and had a great cozy feeling. We spent a lot of time in the the Jacuzzi and it was much needed relaxation for her. The bed was surprisingly soft and we had a wonderful nights rest. The host (arthur? I am horrible with names) was a delight to chat with in the morning and breakfast was great. We had a chance to meet his handsome pups and left feeling very rejuvenated. We will be back in the future for sure.

  First time in Madison

  This quaint little timeless in is fantastic! Ive stayed here for three nights and it is quiet and peaceful the bed is super comfortable and it feels like Ive come home to an old friends house. I am a great fan of independently owned a little ends and this one I will Return to.
