  Dissapointing

  Location great. Room looked very nice but had problems. Only one chair and no table. No ice in fridge. Needs black out blind,shutters are inadequate. Carpet,basin and tiolet were not cleaned during our 3 night stay. Carpet in corridor not cleaned.Fire door in corridor shocked open despite signs saying it should be closed. For $230+ per night ,room only better value elsewhere.

  Casual,great location

  This has had a huge renovation incorporating apartments above.. My local for many years, owned & family run with a nice homey feel.. Can be noisy when busy, nice fire & windows overlooking Point Nepean Road across to the beach.. shopping strip is close by & at Christmas the carnival arrives.. Good food, large portions, nice fire & of course out back pokies.. Car parking at rear, & easy access to the side entrance. Clean, comfy, & modern pub.average prices. With a good seniors menu & drinks are reasonably priced, all up, a good place for a casual meal or meetup with friends for a pleasant meal in a spacious well located local pub.

  IT'S ALL HERE

  Spacious accommodation, clean and with all facilities in room for a pleasant stay. Rooms serviced daily. Some minor maintenance could be done just to polish up the overall quality. Pool and surrounds well maintained. Adjacent to many restaurants, hotel next door for meals very convenient.

  Give January a big miss

  We booked a King view suite when Victorians were encouraged to visit local areas after an intense Covid lockdown. A beach holiday seemed perfect. The room had a balcony as advertised, was quite spacious and was within easy walking distance to the best of Ryes restaurants. There was a pool but access was not easy as the pool was in a totally different building to our room. There was however no mention on any website information or reviews that the room (301) was directly opposite the Rye carnival and next to the drive through bottle shop. The impact of this was very intrusive on a relaxing luxury appointed holiday space. At about 5pm each and every evening until at least 11.20 pm each and every evening our room was blasted by loud music, the adrenal instigating carnival PA system encouraging the carnival goers to get loud resulting in ear piercing screams, and flashing colored lights which could not be blocked out by the plantation shutters - a nightmare!! Covid restrictions also resulted in no daily service of the room. Extra towels, toilet paper and bathroom amenities were in the room and we could request more if needed but there was no bed making (we did our own), rubbish removal or cleaning for the 7 days we were there. Not quite what is expected when on holiday!!! The floor of the 2 person communal lift was not cleaned during our stay either. The Rye area has a lot to offer with nearby wineries, golf and wellbeing centers and Dromana/ Sorrento/ Portsea. The Rye hotel may not be the best choice for a relaxing stay during January.

  Comfortable stay - would recommend

  Stayed here for two nights in February and we really enjoyed this hotel. Location is perfect, very close to Rye beach and just off the main strip. The room was huge, very clean and with a nice patio facing the beautiful pool area. I felt like we were somewhere tropical, loved sitting outside at night with a glass of wine. The staff at check in was lovely and very helpful. She answered all the questions we had and was super friendly. The only minus would be that the blinds on the door to our room did not really cover the window so the room did not get entirely dark at night, and for a light sleeper like myself that was not ideal. Also bathroom door is made of glass (?) and does not have a lock which some may find a bit strange. But, overall this is a really nice and well maintained hotel. Would definitely stay again.
