  Friendly, clean and relaxing guest house

  I spent a couple of very comfortable nights at The Royson, having been to a funeral during the first day. Upon arrival, I was greeted by both Sharon and Nigel, who are such nice people. They ran through all the safety covid issues, which had been put in place around the guest house, including a one way system and reminder tape on the floor and hand gel in various locations. I felt very safe there. They provide a service to their customers, which is over and above the usual things, which an average guest would expect. There are the usual TV and refreshments in the room, but there are also a host of extras. Hand gel and anti-bac wipes and tissues. Soaps and hand cream. An ironing board and alarm clock. A nice quality bag hanging on the door for the laundry. The amazing breakfast selection is second to none and there is something on the menu to suit everybody. The tables were all placed at safe distances away from each other and there was a choice of 2 different sitting times for breakfast. The guesthouse was absolutely spotless and so was the room. If anyone is looking for somewhere clean, comfortable and relaxing to stay, in a perfect, quiet location, save your time hunting around for somewhere else, just book a room at the Royson. ( Read the 100s of reviews. We can't all be wrong can we ? ! ) You'll be very well looked after.......and very well fed !!

  Fantastic

  What a fantastic b&b, the hosts have a great SOH and most welcoming. Comfortable beds great en-suite. Love the full English. Clean rooms highly recommended. Definitely be using this accommodation again.

  Great value for money Bed and Breakfast

  Very hospitable hosts. Nothing too much trouble. Working well within the new covid restrictions. Good value for money. We were in room 5, which was compact and bijou but had all we needed. Property is well located for any activity on the Isle of Wight.

  We stayed at the Royson for four nights. We found Nigel & Sharon excellent hosts and nothing was to much trouble. They offered an extensive breakfast menu and great value for money. When i booked i did wonder why it was so reasonable but we can only say that it is worth every penny and some. Our only comment is that we found the room a little tight for space. But having said that we slept very well and it was as is the Guest house very clean and tidy. They had planned the space very well thoughout to allow for social distancing. It would be without any doubt if we return to Shanklin we would not hesitate to stay there again. Well done to you both.

  A much needed post-lockdown break

  We stayed at the Royson in September 2020, this was our second visit. Nigel and Sharon had put lots of safety measures in place in response to COVID, including one way systems, 2m spacing at breakfast, and deep cleaning the rooms between customers. We felt very safe, but were still well looked after!
