Below average but comfortable bedThe main positive about our stay was that the bed was fairly comfortable and the staff were friendly. There were a few problems with the room that did put a downer on our stay: There was a bright green fire exit light on the door to our room that shone directly at the bed and made it hard to get to sleep. The heating is connected to the pubs heating which turns off in the evening meaning our room was rather cold. There was an electric heater but this was old and small but at least we could warm our room up a little. There is also an outer door to the rooms that can't be shut meaning it's even more difficult to keep the cold up. It is also means that the cigarette smoke from the pub garden comes up into the rooms through the outer door. The bathroom is very basic and the decor is a little old and shabby. Overall I'd say it is in need of refurbishment. Our room did not look like those pictured here on trip advisor. The breakfast had very limited options of cereal and no fruit or yogurt etc. but the cooked breakfast was good and there were vegetarian options.

Stop overHaving previously eaten here I decided that on my way back from Kent to Meriden in Warwickshire i would stay the night. The room which is in the courtyard at the back ( Room 2) had a comfortable King size double bed and digital TV. Also with tea and coffee facilities. The room felt cottagey and the bathroom is dated however all worked very well. The room was warm and there was a stand alone plug in radiator if needed. The hosts were very friendly and there was nothing that was too much trouble. I had pork belly for dinner and cooked breakfast next morning - both were excellent. I sat at the bar and chatted to the locals and all were very friendly which is great as i'm away from home quite a lot. I took an evening walk around the town which is very picturesque, ending up in the church which is a grand building all lit up as the sun went down. I will definitely stay again and cannot recommend this enough. Superb.

Great location and very helpful management. My wife and I stayed for 1 night only on Monday 10th August to enjoy a short cycling break in the Cotswolds. We were able to store our bikes safely in the pub garage (thanks so much for your help John), the room was very comfortable and clean and the breakfast excellent. We also enjoyed an evening meal with government subsidy. Many thanks to all for making our short trip so enjoyable.
