  Can't believe in 2020 that the hotel bar doesn't take card payments , so because I travel with no money and only credit card me and my partner had to sit in our room and watch TV all evening, if your thinking about staying with card and want drinks in the bar I'd say don't bother and try somewhere eles. Other than that the hotel was nice and nice staff .

  Beautifully renovated hotel with great food and wonderful service.

  If you want to relive the heyday of high teas, you should book one at the Royal Hotel, Cookstown. Our party of 7 was treated to an old-style dining experience, in bright and tastefully decorated surroundings, thanks to our excellent waitress. Roslyn's attention to detail and to our dining needs were exceptional. We had what seemed to be three bottomless tea pots on the go; delicious sandwich fingers with an assortment of tasty savoury fillings; scones, jam and cream; muffins and a variety of exquisite slices all placed on three towering cake plates - a veritable cornucopia. At regular intervals Roslyn and her staff checked if we needed refills, that we were comfortable, provided boxes for us to take home excess goodies, and even demonstrated her excellent skills as a photographer, ably capturing our reunion of Northern Irish and Australian cousins for posterity. At all times Roslyn was professional, unobtrusive, polite, friendly, and caring - reminding us of days gone by when dining out was an absolute pleasure thanks to excellent cuisine served by staff who provided outstanding and friendly service.

  Dinner

  Had dinner in this hotel as it was about the only thing in town open. Tasty food, with a wide variety and some good specials. Pints were good as well. A bit of a "Cafeteria" ambiance but made up for by the great staff and service.

  Covid preparations

  Everyone needs to know how well this hotel has implemented Covid protection for both staff and patrons. You cannot get anywhere without registering in reception which is surrounded in ppe and that included the bar/restaurant. A great track and trace. A member of staff takes you to a table away from others. All staff in the restaurant are wearing PPE. Hand sanitizer outside each of the toikets as well. We were thoroughly impressed at how much effort and concern had gone into making this happen. An honest well done, oh and if you want a great feed, this is the place.

  Comfortable stay

  Stayed here recently with my partner and everything was great and to our standards. The bed was super comfy, made it difficult to get out of bed in the morning (not a bad thing) Filling breakfast in the morning setting us up for the day. Great value N&M
