  Fantastic Visit, Excellent Value

  Fantastic visit to the Royal Hotel recently and it will be my 'go to place' in Campbeltown in the future. Great customer service from start to finish. Room was hugely comfortable and clean and every member of staff a delight to meet.

  I always stop here for dinner

  Great restaurant with value for money offerings - seafood tagliatelle tonight for £17. Nowhere better for well priced delicicious food in the town. Fyne Ales in the pub too. Sadly my work can't afford to put me up here...

  Avoid at all costs?!!!

  So I am writing this review as yesterday was myself and wife wedding day. What a fantastic day and evening we had. This was however soon damped when we arrived at the hotel. Firstly we request we had the best room been bride and groom!!. Needless to say this was a complete shambles for the money we paid and to have a tiny room. Especially the fact that our other guests had much better rooms than us!!! Secondly the Manors of the staff are disgusting!!. We were also told that we had to come in early to check in on our wedding day and could not collect the keys at night. Not even a please nor nothing from staff members during breakfast, except from one member of stuff. This lady was lovely and spoke away. I must say any newly married couple looking to stay here I would strongly recommend avoiding at all costs!! Never again shall I step foot back in this hotel. Thanks for spoiling our wedding day!!   Great food, excellent staff

  Called in for a lunchtime meal. It was the first day open after the lockdown. The staff were attentive and engaging. The food was excellent and plentiful and beautifully cooked. The quinoa burger was a highlight. Staff were very helpful regarding the Covid precautions without being intrusive. We'll definitely go back.

  So since over terrible review March 2020

  So just a wee update. Since our wedding in March 2020 as you are aware this was a terrible experience. Since lock down started to ease my wife and I went back into the Royal Hotel. We spoke with one of the managers at the hotel. We were then offered a stay at the Ugadale Hotel out at Machrihanish. We took this offer and were offered a fantastic room with breakfast. On our arrival the staff was extremely well manard. We even received a bottle of prosecco. Needless to say our stay and food was fantastic. Lovely 2nd wedding night. Thanks again for sorting this.
