The best hotel deal in Japan

For $65 per night we got an enormous suite, with every amenity we could imagine. Yes, it's not right in the center of Fukuoka, but don't let that stop you - Tenjin is a 5 minute walk and a 10 minute bus ride away. And to think I almost paid half as much money for a tiny room near Hakata Station. An outstanding deal.

    Family trip

It took about 20 minutes from Hakata Station. It was a little far from Hakata Station, so it was much wider than a hotel of the same price. There were two single beds, a sofa bed, and two toothbrushes and two razors. I also received a toothbrush and a slipper for children. The bathroom was not too small, and there was a bathtub. There was a convenience store and a japanese restaurant right next to the hotel, and there was a mall selling food and miscellaneous goods about five minutes away. We could walk to Fukuoka Tower in about 10 minutes walk from hotel. We could go to Momochi beach by the tower side. I did not get a non - smoking room because I made the reservation late. It would be nice to have a non smoking room if possible. The outdoor swimming pool is not open yet. They said the date of open is July 15 and it's not for free. It is a place to stay for a few days rather than just a day.

Good value accommodation in a good location

The Residential Suites provided good value accommodation in a good location (close to the beach and the Fukuoka City Museum, and only a ten minute talk for the nearest underground stop) for my week-long stay in Fukuoka in December 2019. The all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet provided a huge range of options, both Western and Japanese, and the staff could not have been more helpful.

    Perfect for us

In Fukuoka for a combined work/ pleasure trip this was a wonderful base and became a real home away from home. It is in a quiet residential area close to the beach, Fukuoka Tower, The River and the city Museum with plenty of green quiet spaces and walking areas. Also a fabulous supermarket/bakery 10 minutes walk away with a Lawsons Convenience Store 3 minutes away with an ATM. Eating places too. The University Library on the way to subway has a great little coffee shop. Buses close by to Tenshin and Hakata with subway 20 minutes walk. Around subway loads of bustling streets and shops. The hotel has large rooms with one large space for beds and sitting area and a couple of good work area. Great bathroom with washing machine and a tiny but really useful kitchenette with boiling water machin, fridge. Sink and tiny cooking stove. We could open both windows and door to balcony so always light and airy. Great breakfast. Staff so helpful and friendly and fresh towels etc delivered every day. We chose when asked, to not get cleaning of the room every day just after 3 days so were given 6 bottles of water as a reward- part of their energy reduction policy. Funny arrangement where you can hire kitchen set. We just bought spoons and bowls cheaply at Lawsons for occasional quick breakfast and for making drinks. Bikes for hire too. We stayed 5 nights and really felt at home and part of the area where we really got to know our way around. Also Interesting Temple 15 minutes away near the River- closed when I went but a fascinating burial ground to walk around.

Great place close to the beach!

This is a great place close to the beach. It's about a fifteen minute walk to the beach or less. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and our room was spacious, clean, and had hardwood floors. It didn't feel like Japan at all. The hotel is close to a rather high-end grocery store, but it has everything a traveler would need. The bakery is great too. There are also several restaurants next to the hotel. If you want to head to somewhere busier, it's just about a ten minute past the schools to reach the station where more restaurants and bars are located, mind you, the area is quite small. The hotel also has a pool, but it's barely four feet deep. It would be great for families, but I personally would prefer just walking to the beach instead. The pillows can be a bit stiff and small, but that's true for most pillows in hotels in the country. Also, the bar could improve their cocktails since most of them are from instant mixes. Skip the mojito. I would definitely come back here again. Not only does it have access to a pool and the beach, but if I want to head to Tenjin for some shopping, it's just four stops away on the subway. It's perfect for a lazy, relaxing trip in Japan (not for the hectic shopping, see crazy things type of traveler).
