Excellent food and serviceA special evening Steak Night. Good to see entire restaurant was fully booked as were hotel rooms. Service was friendly fast and professional we started our evening with excellent Margaritas, we all had different steak, all cooked exactly aa requested and perfect. Served with good sauce the peppercorn was perfect, and served with proper chips. A very decent wine list, including 1st class dessert wines. An outstanding evening , we stayed overnight in a comfortable hotel room and enjoyed our full English breakfast. Very highly recommended

Well priced good food....terrible service! We arrived at the restaurant for our reservation which was pre made over the phone several days before for our reservation not to exist. We were told we would just have to wait 5 minutes for our table to be made. Half an hour letter after numerous reminders to staff we were seated. Our starters arrived with one missing and childrens meals Arrived with no vegetables. The food was good and very well priced but the lack of service and seemingly organisation made the whole experience very frustrating especially when we had young children in our group.

Fine food, excellent service and felt Covid safeWe went for the food and we were not disappointed. Excellent choice on menu and wine list was good too. Not too expensive either. When I said our room was cold the staff rushed round getting the heating on. I felt as if they really cared.

Incredible Food And Warmest Welcome.Sometimes something that is not really exciting you can turn out to be a really fabulous experience. That was the case with The Raven. Booked for a two night stay with two of our three dogs. One being a tiny puppy. In fairness the room was a little tired but perfectly situated for quick access to the courtyard garden. The welcome we and our dogs received was one of the warmest I have ever received anywhere. Michelle greeted us with an enormous smile, hidden by her Covid mask, but very obvious from her twinkling eyes. Nothing was too much trouble and her positivity about everything was so refreshing. A balm to the soul. Dinner on both nights was outstanding and more than compared with many very good London restaurants. The chef, Michael is quite young but has obviously really studied his craft and has a natural flair for flavour combinations. Everything from the beetroot bouche, to the pear carpaccio with gorgonzola and honeyed walnuts was beautifully presented and perfectly balanced. Pan fried sweetbreads with pea veloute, tasted exactly like the ones my mother cooked me as a child. Absolutely stunning. Others in our party had the cod and declared it delicious. The following night the pig cheeks starter and the pan fried chicken were equally delicious. The chocolate orange dessert was so good I had it on both nights. The hotel also has a small Delhi which the chef also cooks for. An excellent selection of fresh fruit and vegetables and fish is available. We bought two sausage rolls which rivalled The Ginger Pig in London and a very delicious Quiche Lorraine, which could have done with about 6 minutes longer in the oven for the pastry but still tasted delicious. What is remarkable is that this little hotel and restaurant packs a punch well above its weight in both the warmth of the staff and the quality of the food. Well worth a visit.

Great food and excellent customer serviceWe didn't stay at the hotel, but we did attend for lunch whilst visiting our daughter. The food was lovely and the customer service was excellent. All Covid19 measures were adhered to and we had a lovely afternoon. The place is nicely decorated and cosy with the log burners going. We would definitely consider having the evening meal in the restaurant next time we visit Much Wenlock.
