  Convenient location - great food

  The pub is conveniently located near to the motorway Xbox near to hadrians wall hence our overnight stay. It has recently been taken over by new owners who are settling in well. Great food and welcoming staff.

  The Queens was a perfect stop off point on a journey from Dorset to Scotland as well as Scotland to Dorset! The staff were wonderful - particularly on the return journey when we were having problems with our car which meant a delayed departure. The food was delicious, the rooms ticked all the boxes and the whole atmosphere was lovely. Thank you for all your help and kindness.

  Eat here as soon as you can.

  We visited The Queens at Warwick as we were staying nearby, I used to live locally as a child so I visit the area frequently. We have eaten here many times and always enjoyed it, apparently they have been through a bit of a rocky patch which I missed. The Queens now has new owners and it shows. The three lovely young people behind the bar when we arrived were friendly, welcoming and served our drinks with promptly. They were chatty with out being over familiar or intrusive. We then ordered dinner and went through to the dining room. The meal that followed can only be described as faultless. Original ideas, totally delicious, well presented and served beautifully. We were so impressed that we asked to speak to the chef James Middlemoor, a lovely young man with an obvious love of food and an outstanding flair for new ideas. I will never forget the Halibut special that I ordered that night. Sublime. James had foraged the brambles for the dish with his young son!! I have been lucky enough to eat in some high class restaurants all over the world, who would have thought that a meal that is right up there with 5*, Michelin starred and AA rosette awarded restaurants can be found in Warwick on Eden. Go and eat there, you will not regret it, but be quick because my guess is when word gets out it is going to very difficult to get a table.

  Boxing Day Lunch

  We went for lunch on Boxing Day. 4 adults 2 children. It was just ok. Nothing special. The Boxing Day pie was turkey!!! The curry was turkey!! I think people have had enough of turkey by Boxing Day - so really think other choices for these dishes would have been preferred by most. The staff were friendly, a lovely open fire in the Bar area. Just think they need to be more imaginative with the menu.

  Nice but the kitchen was closed :(

  Stayed for one night, just needed a dinner and a bed. No food was being severed in the evening due to lack of customers. Had to take a taxi into Carlisle for something to eat. Not a major hassle as the locals having a beer were very helpful in pointing us in the right direction. Nice place overall and wish the new owners all the very best - just tell your customers in advance if there's no kitchen :) Kitchen re-opened at breakfast for a very nice full English and good coffee
