BEWARE OF THE CANCELLATION POLICYWe booked months ago and have learned we have to jump through hoops to be able to travel - ok, no problem, we can get tested and do what we need to do for the safety of all of us. Now we've learned that breakfast is no longer provided at the "bed and breakfast" nor is daily room service. Our choices for cancelling the reservation are either an $800 voucher for our deposit for future use or hopes that the room is re-rented and we get back our $800 deposit minus a $50 fee. Caveat emptor! They will not deviate from the policy whatsoever!

Don't BotherThought I had booked this hotel for August 8th, when the confirmation popped up it stated the 9th. I immediately (less than five minutes) contacted Hotels.com who then immediately contacted the hotel who refused to cancel (again less than five minutes after booking). Shows what they actually care about (and it's not their guests).

Do NOT stay hereWe had high hopes for this place. Based on the reviews and the fact that it was dog friendly, we booked the Julia Child apartment, which is billed as the top-of-the-line room to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary. We were excited about our visit and looked forward to our celebration. It was a huge disappointment, to say the least. And I urge you not to make the same mistake we did and AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!! Where to begin... perhaps with the black mold growing in the bathroom, the extremely hard, uncomfortable, hot bed, the non-existent air conditioning, the skylight over the bed that was a literal spotlight waking you up in the morning, the dormers right over the bed for you to smack your head on in the middle of the night, the ability to hear every word of your neighbors conversation through thin walls, the dangerous dark outdoor staircase...the list goes on. (Oh, and its definitely not ADA compliant if thats a concern.) The most frustrating part? The complete and utter lack of customer service. When we reached out to the numbers provided for feedback, we were solidly ignored. Like punitively so. I know I sound like a complaining Karen, but we spent quite a bit of money here to have what we hoped would be a luxurious, lovely experience. It was miserable. We had three nights booked and left after two because it wasnt worth the misery of staying there the third night. After listing the complaints, Elizabeth (the owner/manager?) finally got back and said she would refund our third night, but its been more than two weeks now, and after three follow-up emails and two phone calls, I still havent gotten a response or any money back from anyone from this place. Its truly disheartening that someone in the service industry would treat a customer like this. To be honest, we werent really expecting a refund because of the draconian cancellation policies, but if youre going to offer one, you should follow through. At the very least offer some sort of apology or at least try to make us feel somewhat better for a crappy experience. And yes, everyone is doing the best they can during COVID, but isnt that a reason to try to satisfy the customers you do get right now?? So, dear fellow travelers, please do yourselves a favor and stay elsewhere when you come to sweet Provincetown. There looked to be many other charming options. Dont fall into the trap we did. Save yourselves!

Hope Room Is As Advertised ButStayed recently at Gabriel's with our furry friend in the Hope Room. The room is advertised as pet friendly, economical, the hotel's smallest with a very small bathroom. While all that is spot on, the very small bathroom was a show stopper for us. Gabriel's has a wonderful location near the center of town and we were provided generous breakfast vouchers to make up for the lack of provided breakfast due to the coronavirus. The Hope Room itself was small but adequate and loaded with stuff like a firplace, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, stove top, tv, comfortable bed and abundant drawers. Utilizing the same overall space, we would have preferred less of these furnishings and an enlarged bathroom to make a much more comfortable experience. Consequently, we can't recommend the Hope Room but others at Gabriels could be a better choice!

Lovely Hotel with Great LocationStayed here for an overnight and had a very nice time. We were joining friends who were staying here for a week-long vacation. The owners were in communication prior to our check-in regarding COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines. We arrived early and were able to get to our room immediately. We stayed in MICHAEL PATRICK which consisted of a sitting area, kitchen and two beds (one separate from the main room) as well as two bathrooms. The place was very clean and the owners were very accommodating. Parking is offsite (about a five minute walk up a hill) and was only a problem during checkout because drop off parking was taken up by workmen. We wound up parking on the street to get our bags into the car. This place is centrally located just behind Town Hall (you will here the bell rolling the hour and half hour, so if you are a light sleeper, plan accordingly. We would definitely stay here again as it was really an ideal location and the owners were wonderful!
