Friday night Thai dinnerI have not been to the Potters for a few years, but decided to do walk one sunny Friday evening with some friends to find a pub for supper. The Potters has had a referb, to may it brighter and upgrade the bar and outside areas. As usual the staff were very friendly, more than happy to run a tab without a) what is the table number and b) can I had a card ! We sat outside, and on Fri/Sat they now do Thai food (as well as the the normal menu). The landlord has bought the pub from the brewery so now a freehouse, and was severing Rebellion beer. Excellent food, and service, with a bit of banter from the efficient staff trying to spell the thai food names! ~£25 a head for couple of beers each, main meal (which was substantial) and starters - we all chose from the Thai menu. All in all a good evening. Pub is dog friendly, has some B&B rooms, no fruit machines (hurrah), and is located in a small village.

Great friendly placeWhat a great little place, stayed her for 1 night while working away, arrived late at the bar and the young lad (should have got his name) was a really polite and friendly. Showed us up to our room and explained breakfast etc. Nice comfy nights stay in a lovely feeling place. Breakfast was spot on. Great work all.

Really tiredNeeding to go to Amersham for a funeral, this is one of 2 places which were not too far from the ceremony. BUT if you do not have a car and are traveling by train, it is at least 8 pounds, one way, from the station by taxi which you have to add to the costs of the room. The room itself was clean but quite tired with rust stains in the washroom. I also had dinner at the pub. I chose a hamburger, something simple. It was the worst one I have had in years ! The meat was rock hard, the onion rings beyond overfried but the chips were good. And the table was dirty both at dinner AND at breakfast the next morning. On a more positive note: the personnel was very nice and kind. My recommendation if you are coming from London : take the train in the morning and avoid sleeping here.

Outdated and confusedChose here rather blindly based on the review score but big mistake not looking at more recent reviews. Sadly the place is confused in its lay out, outdated on its beer offering and the food is a Gordon Ramsey kitchen nightmares style over the top menu with 30+ options none of which done well. Should have been a red flag as soon as we saw, they had a brunch menu, a pizza menu, a Thai menu, an English menu and a crepe menu. We order one of pretty much each of the lists and not one was good! Could of got away with this years ago but this place has potential in regards to the pub and location but needs a good look at what its target market is.
