  Excellent, highly recommend this B & B

  From the moment you step through the door of this B &B you are greeted with a warm reception. The rooms are clean, spacious & offer more than expected. Not only is there tea & coffee equipment but fresh milk in a thermos is delivered to your room daily if required. There is plenty of storage space for everything you might take either for 1 night or a 2 week holiday & even a selection of books to borrow & read. The bathroom comes supplied with upmarket toiletries, a real bonus. There is a comfortable lounge & dining area downstairs well equipped with guides of the area, books to read & general information as well as a TV. Outside there is seating both at the front of the property, if you wish to watch the busy life of the village go by or at the back in a more secluded area. Breakfast is a real experience of local produce & extremely plentiful. From the choice of cereal & fruit juices to a cooked breakfast of your choice including their beautifully presented full English. Local sausage, inc hog pudding, bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato & as much toast as you wish. The local jams, marmalades & honey all in individual jars add to this scrumptious feast. Even the coffee is fresh & plentiful. I would highly recommend this B & B for anyone traveling to the area as either a base or a place to unwind. Perfects hosts with an in-depth knowledge of the area, welcoming smile & a nothing is problem attitude.

  wonderful stay

  we have just had a lovely few days at the Porthvean , fabulously clean room , professional and extremely friendly hosts and delicious breakfast. would highly recommend if looking for a place to stay plus its next door to a great pub.

  Discovered a Cornwall treasure

  First visit to Cornwall as a family and could not have wished for a better place to stay with quite exceptional hosts. Hospitality was outstanding and the locality was an ideal place to stay and visit other areas, making Porthvean a great base.

  Awesome hosts

  I lovely hotel beautifully situated with comfy rooms comfy beds wonderful hosts and an exceptional breakfast. I also feel it needs to be mentioned that if you have children they have a games room which is Great addition to the facilities already available. We both look forward to staying again thank you.

  Highly recommend and can't wait to return

  We absolutely loved the 5 nights that we spent at the Porthvean and did not want to leave! Why? Just a few of the reasons: Superb quality, quantity and variety of breakfast freshly prepared as soon as we arrived in the dining room by Geoff, the always smiling and helpful owner. Wonderfully soft duvets and comfortable beds in a warm well furnished good sized room. Excellent location in the heart of the village with seating at the front where you can just watch the world go by or take an enjoyable walk down to the beach and from there along the coastal paths in either direction. We really enjoyed our long conversations with our lovely host Geoff who has been in St Agnes since 1977 and is a fount of local knowledge. And our own parking space was the icing on the cake!
