    Wouldnt recommend

We were disappointed with the standard Of our Sunset apartment & wouldnt stay there again. Our negative points were Broken toilet seat, No spare blanket for the bed, kitchen was advertised as well equipped & that was false, it had a warped frying pan & no oven dishes. The bed cover was dirty & the bed had a stained stretched mattress protector on it. The kitchen carpet had a big stretch mark in it which dangerous for stripping on. Worst of all you are told that no rubbish was to be left in the room , which is acceptable but then its mentioned the rubbish bins are 4 levels down then out the gated security gate, up a steep drive walk out the front of the building then if the bins are there drop your rubbish in. All fine if your young & athlete.

    Sharon is the Best Host

Fantastic location and apartments in Bargara. Sharon is by far the best Host i have ever met. great prices , well worth a visit. Just a very short walk along the oceanside pathway to the Bargara coffee shops and cafes.

    Not great

Good-Staff were really nice. Location was good. Clean linen on the bed which was a bit firm but okay. Quiet building at night. Bad- Room advertised as a 1 bedroom apartment but it was a Studio apartment as there is no door separating the bedroom from the rest of the apartment. The folding doors have been removed but hotel pics still show them present. Difficult to sleep without the air conditioning on due to lack of ventilation. Cleanliness of everything including furniture was a bit suspect especially after finding greasy dinner plates in cupboard. No extractor fan in bathroom and drains smell bad. Apart from all this it was an okay place to stay for a few nights but very disappointed about the false description of the room by the owners.

    A good value option

We stayed at The Point Resort in a one-bedroom apartment. It was great to have a well-equipped kitchen so we could make some of our own meals and our bathroom had a spa (which I definitely enjoyed) and a washing machine and dryer, which would be awesome to have on a longer trip. We got a deal through Luxury Escapes that included 3 nights accommodation, parking, a bottle of wine and a late checkout for $349. I was super impressed that there was no surcharge to stay on a public holiday long weekend in the school holidays! What a bargain! The resort also has 2 and 3 bedroom apartments as well as a pool, spa, games room, BBQ area and 6 hole mini putt putt course! It definitely isnt 5 star (or a luxury escape for that matter) and some of the furniture and decor is a bit dated and showing signs of wear and tear but it is a good value option that is close to both the shops and restaurants and across the road from the beach. The reason this review is 3 stars and not higher is the amount of dust in the room and the odd smell making us think the housekeeping was not up to scratch, which is pretty important these days!

    Disappointing. Will not be back.

In our opinion, Apartment# 413 did not meet the standard of a 4 Star resort apartment, yet the Point Resort is advertised as a 4-star resort on the website. Our previous 7 nights to this location, we stayed in the 4-star M1 Resort in Maroochydore and I can honestly say The Point Resort, Bargara Beach comes nowhere near matching it. The front desk may portray a friendly and courteous face, but we found management and staff failed miserably on our stay. When it comes to getting anything fixed or attended to, do not hold your breath as it's a whole different story and frustration. Apartment# 413 - advertised as a 1-bedroom Sunset View apartment was nothing more than an overrated open plan studio with no separated closable bedroom with no cupboard shelving or drawers (hanging rails only) and a tiny kitchen, tiny microwave oven, medium sized fridge and with nowhere in the kitchen to store any non-refrigerated food or groceries. One had to use a broom cupboard near the front door to store anything. The apartment had a musty smell, aged carpets and furniture, a so-called king bed amounting to two large single beds joined and held together with the bed linen and was not overly comfortable. Not what one would have expected from a 4-star accommodation. You had to keep the curtains closed on the apartment sliding patio doors as the heat beamed in terribly from early afternoon onwards with the one only air conditioner fighting hard to keep the apartment cool, hence any view you might have enjoyed was gone. NOTE: All of the following were reported both verbally and on a written list to management the following morning after our arrival and verbally again on the second morning raising and bringing to attention three of the items on the list which were not attended to as had been stated to me the previous day would be looked at and attended to. These namely being replacing the dryer door (the replacement which was shown to me by whom I believe was management), clearing the blocked vanity basin drain and check operation of the bathroom windows electric vent fan. During our 3-night stay nothing was attended to, at any time. The bathroom, located off the bedroom, has a spa bath, separate shower, toilet suite, vanity unit, top load washing machine and wall hung clothes dryer. Ventilation of the bathroom and apparently the apartment (other than opening the patio sliding glass doors) was with the use of an electric powered fan window ventilator which did not work as it was clogged by lint and dust. When this was raised with management, their comeback was "that's ok as this had been fixed with the installation of ceiling vents that they had recently spent $11,000.00 plus on in upgrading those apartments". I replied, "I can tell you that there are no ceiling vents in our unit" and I was politely told I need to go check again. Believe me, there were no ceiling vents in the apartment, conveying this strongly back to front desk staff the following morning who advised would pass onto management. The walls and ceiling around the washing machine and dryer were layered with lint and dust because the dryer door had no rubber seal on it and it was obvious the area had not been cleaned in ages. The lint filter was full when we arrived hence it had not been checked by the room cleaners during their cleaning and inspection. A notice in the apartment advised that when you used the dryer you had to leave the door to the bedroom area open indicating that management were well aware of the ventilation issue and now one can only imagine what occurred in leaving the door open, was that the lint and dust circulated throughout the bathroom all over the floor, in the vanity basin, toilet and the spa bath, all over the walls and the dryer, washing machine and throughout the bedroom, bedding, lounge/dining and kitchen area and the filters of the wall air conditioner of the small apartment and you were breathing it in, as we found out all because the apartment was not ventilated in any way. The vanity basin waste was almost blocked with it taking ages to empty. We changed to using the kitchen sink because of it. Two of the spa bath jets were not working properly and the water pressure in the tap was that slow it took ages for the bath to fill. Management advised that this could not be the case as all the spa bath operations had been isolated/turned off because of the Covid19 virus. I advised, the spa bath in 413 was surely working except for two jets working at a well reduced capacity. The chrome shower rose was growing green/blue and white scale with water leaking at one of the universal joints when you used it and could not be adjusted with the wingnut to stop it. There was rust around the shower wall chrome plate and rust stain on the tile indicating a leaking outlet. Randomly the air conditioner would just start spitting water out of the wall unit and if you were unlucky like us, all over us whilst sitting at the dining table or on the lounge. at one point water just started running out of the air conditioner wall unit all over the carpet. Now we know where the musty smell is coming from. Cleaning staff need to be more diligent and observant during cleaning, passing on the faults to management and management need to ensure apartment maintenance is kept up to the standards they advertise them as and attend to priority issues in a very timely manner so that travelers are not having their holidays spoilt. We don't want your reply of excuses because we feel and believe they will not be sincere, else those serious issues we provided to you would have been resolved when they were raised, and our stay would have been a whole load happier.
