Great lunchtime venue after morning walk in this beautiful area.Booked ahead for a group of 10. Were advised that we were welcome to park our cars here and to call in to preorder our lunches so that we would not wait long to be served when we arrived back. Because we couldn't be exact about timing I telephoned to confirm our anticipated arrival time as we approached the village on foot. Service was pleasant and efficient. Everyone was happy with the range of beers and other beverages on offer and although we had chosen different meals from the menu, we all expressed our enjoyment of food which was well prepared and nicely presented. My confit duck salad was especially good... Good helpings provided at a reasonable price. We will be returning some time to do a different walk so that we can enjoy another lunch in this lovely old pub!

Great food and B&B at a reasonable priceWe decided to have an impromptu visit to a gallery on the south coast. It would have been possible to drive there and back during one day but we decided to stop overnight en-route back home. The price for 2 adults for one night B&B was reasonable, given the lovely location in Crondall, Hampshire. Our room was simple, not very large but it was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a one night stay. We also ate at the Plume of Feathers. The menu was a wide selection of traditional favourites and some more adventurous fare. We both had mushrooms in stilton, garlic and cream sauce on toasted sourdough bread. My wife went for the cheese-burger with bacon and I had the chicken and ham pie. There is a good selection of well-kept beers and reasonably-priced wines. Breakfast was the "full English" (very nice too). All-in-all, we highly recommend this place.

Christmas Eve- DisappointmentFirst impressions of the Pub- quirky, cute, friendly at first and looking forward to dining here:- however the food and service robbed me of this thought. The fillet steak was so fatty and what a waste at £18 a dish. I merely mentioned this to the waitress and her attitude was nothing we can do about that. I wasnt expecting for a refund Just making the chef aware the Steak was extremely fatty and I had maybe four good mouthfuls. This Rude waitress made it apparent that my complaint was not wanted and made us feel on edge and wanting to leave almost immediately, however My husband and child wanted to finish their meals as it was Christmas Eve and we are holidaying here in Crondall. Deserts came out and were thrown in front of us, she really made it known we were no longer welcome here, my husband went on to finish his desert but hadn't even put his spoon down and the rude waitress leant in across him and scooped his plate away from him while having a full blown conversation with another waitress who just stood their most of the evening not doing a lot! I complained to a manager about the way in which I felt penalised for merely mentioning the quality of the service and food and her attitude was very much the same of that to the rude waitress. No interested still charged us full going rate. I explained I would not be leaving a good review she wasnt bothered either way. So disappointing having booked this in advance and reading the good reviews we thought we were on to a winner. But unless your a local its very clicky and the service didnt match to that of our expectations. No doubt the owner will be on here to defend this review and make some unnecessary comment to the steak I ordered ... but that sir doesnt warrant your rude and inexperienced staff! What I will say is That we drove out and we went to the White Horse in Shere and my God what a difference what an amazing warm friendly superb pub I couldnt recommend it enough.. such a shame I could say the same about the plume of feathers as I dislike leaving bad reviews, but after you took my money and shown no empathy towards a customer and their feelings shame on you!

Sunday LunchWe have been for Sunday lunch the last 3 weekends, as we have just moved to the Village. I have to say the food and service is great, good fresh home cooked food, you would be hard pressed to find a better lunch in my opinion !!! Keep up the good work. Kim & Lois.

Great lunch after walk under Covid 19 conditionsOur small walking group of 2 couples had a lunch after our 2 hour walk. We were seated in an outside cabin with a heater for each table. The area had four well spaced tables. Food, beer and staff were very good and we had no complaints. Good value for money food, just what we needed after a walk in the cold weather
