Pitlochry Hydro HotelThis has got be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in for the money they are asking you to pay , I say this as I travel all over the place & stay in all different types of hotels , absolutely ridiculous , the whole place needs revamped and I mean everywhere , the rooms are a disgrace , shabby decor , bathroom was a laugh , toilet not flushing , shower with poor water pressure , water dripping on the floor , bathroom door didn't shut , curtains were hanging off the rails , TV had a very poor connection , Dinner - well I had pork & mash , terrible , pre made & heated up in a microwave , not what I paid for , it was tasteless , the melon starter was quite nice , don't think you can go wrong with that , the breakfast was very nice , the staff are very nice I will give them that I would advise no one to go to this hotel till it had been upgraded , you will be very disappointed in what you were expecting for what you paid , not to Hydro standards NONE I would score this hotel 2 out of 10 - staff & breakfast The rest absolute shambles & totally spoiled my weekend NB - I can't comment on the spa as it wasn't open , however I bet it also is outdated and in need of a serious upgrade

TerribleI honestly dont know where to start , lets begin with I booked a superior room with scenic views of the garden ,with bath and shower as we had a 2 month old baby and needed a bath , getting to the room to realise there was only a shower after a 4 hours drive from up north this was not a good start !!! Looked out 1 window and its a metal stair case and the other window basically looked onto a tree so very scenic indeed :)I spoke to the receptionist and he said that they rooms had been upgraded and there was no longer any baths in them ok fine well why dont you state that on the booking site ????? He said we could have a look at another 2 rooms and gave us the keys, off we went up stairs to the first room and we walked into something like could only be described as a prison cell im actually shocked that a a hotel could offer this room and service to anyone its a complete dis service to the Scottish highlands,we then moved swiftly on the other room and it was basically a used room with bedding all over the place and used towels in the bathroom at this point we were looking for other accommodation but with it being so late at night and after a long drive we just settled for what we had the room its self was ok as for it being refurbished I dont know the carpet was absolutely stained throughout the whole room , the food was terrible , there was not even any deserts left , the staff at dinner were nice and friendly and I think that is the only decent thing the hotel has going for it , I wouldnt go back there again if it was for free !! I wouldnt pay more than £25/30 for a night here if it was the last resort , any good reviews from this hotel must be from people that live in the set of trainspotting. Kevin

Health hazardMy husband and i booked a room for two nights to celebrate my birthday. I had booked a room and paid extra for a scenic view and a little more luxury. OMG the room was disgusting , full of cobwebs , black mould on the windowsills with cobwebs on them also, black mould around the shower cubicle and bathroom. The paint was all cracked and there was stains on the doors and walls. Having paid that bit extra our thoughts were that the other rooms would be the same or worse so we spent as little time in it as possible. Oh and our view was of the carpark. On checking out we asked to see a manager as i had taken photos of the room and wanted to share them , i was told there wasn't one until later that day , i then asked who was in charge and she shrugged her shoulders. I told her we would not be paying until we spoke to someone . We left a number and were contacted later that day by a very rude and arrogant depute manager who informed us that the payment had been taken . He offered us a £30 refund . His response to the complaint was "well you should have came down and we would have deep cleaned the room" I'm sorry are we not in the midst of a global pandemic ? the room should have been deep cleaned before we arrived. There is no way that mould appeared overnight. when told we were going to share the photos of the room his was response was " do what you like" . I can go on and on but i will let the photos speak for themselves.
