Best Ever!We aren't the kind of folks who usually write reviews, or visit the same place twice, because we love to see new things and try new adventures, but this is our second time visiting The Pettigrew Inn and we feel compelled to share. We enjoyed the accommodations, from the rooms to the hot tub. We can't say enough about the breakfasts that Courtney serves. The hospitality, the food, and the accommodations brought us back. Courtney is a wonderful cook and hostess. She went out of her way to make suggestions about places to visit, hiking routes and other activities to participate in, and all while trying to maintain as much normalcy as she could with Co-vid regulations! One of the most flattering things that really made us feel special, is that Courtney remembered us from the previous year, and remembered my husband's least favorite food, which she assured him would not be on the menu while we visited! Although our visit this year was for a few nights, last year, we only spent one night! Impressive. Thanks so much Courtney for your hospitality, we will be back!

Great B&B in downtown Ludlow! We were greeted by the owner Courtenay at dinner time. She is obviously a chef and proud of her inn as she should be. We stayed in the back house on the ground floor with a lovely jet tub, full shower and bath in our king size bed room - could not have been happier. Well thought out breakfast, coffee in the room which was super clean and safe. The porch and sitting areas in the garden were beautiful, convenient and well maintained. There is a hot tub as well.

Really, just ok...Bed and Breakfasts are always a risk, but with all the positive review of the Pettigrew Inn I thought it would be a delight. Had I been able to spend a little more time digging into each of the reviews here I would have realized that it is, in fact, a 3-star inn, but all of the negatives were buried in the 5 star reviews. Not helpful people! Here's the good: Breakfast was served and was hot. There is a hot tub. There is a bed and a bathroom. Fantastic downtown location without being on the main road. Here's the Covid: None of the common spaces are available for casual use. There is no interaction between guests. Every meal, besides breakfast, has to be eaten in the room. You have to sign up for a time slot for breakfast. Most of the village restaurants are not doing eat in, they are mostly takeout only. If they are doing eat in, the capacity is minimal. Additionally, I was there over New Year's weekend, there is not enough capacity for the influx of people. Saturday night I called to order takeout pizza at 5 and it couldn't be ready until 8:40. The burrito place ran out of food by 5:30. Here's the bad: The Inn Keeper turns the heat way down at night. There were only 2 summer weight blankets on the bed. Together they were not warm enough for during the day when the heat was on, but it was truly freezing at night when the outside temperature dropped to the teens and the heat was lowered. The bed was so hard I couldn't sleep. It was not a neutral bed that anyone could get a reasonable nights sleep on, it was harder than the floor and had springs. The mattress is encased in a slippy slidy cheap mattress cover and poly blend sheets that did not fit the bed leading to further discomfort. Every conversation could be heard through the walls. There was very low water pressure and the handle was broken. I was the only guest in the house when I showered, so it wasn't that everyone was showering at once. I live in a house from 1880, there could have been pressure in the shower. There is not a good place to stow gear. There is a small delicate chest in the room and the bathroom and a rack on the back of the door to hang coats. The heated room provided to stow ski gear basically ruined a day of skiing because it wasnt kept warm enough to keep the boots warm. Another thing to pile into the room. Breakfast is SLOW, get it to go if you have somewhere to be. No accommodation was made for having to eat and drink in the room due to COVID, so back into that bed or sitting on the floor. If you need anything you have to page the inn keeper with a button by the door. Then it is this super awkward forced interaction because they were just interrupted. Its not the Inn experience I have had anywhere else, including at the Pettigrew with the previous owners, where the Inn keeper is casually around and pleasantly available.

Hidden Gem!Situated on a side street in Ludlow, Vermont, you will not be. Disappointed! Our four day stay was wonderful! The Inn keeper and her staff went out of their way to ensure our comfort. The breakfasts were scrumptious! They answered our questions and gave great recommendations for dining out, local sites to visit, etc. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable! Thank you Courtney and staff for making the final leg of our ski vacation memorable! We stayed in the Atwood room.

Perfect B&B experience!Best bed and breakfast experience I've had to date! Courtenay and her staff are so friendly, helpful, and communicative. The room was clean and the bed oh-so comfortable! We were lucky enough to come on a "crepe day" for breakfast- both the smoked turkey, apple, and cheddar and the banana nutella crepes were delicious! Great value, great location, great food, great people- what more could you want!
