  Evening meal while staying at the sister hotel the Peebles Hydro.

  Excellent meal in pleasant relaxing surroundings. Staff welcoming and friendly. Spent many fine stays at The Park in years gone by and it was great to be back again. We will be back in the new year. Best wishes to the staff and home the present crisis ends soon.

  Best meal out in ages

  Many thanks to the staff at the Park for a wonderful meal and great service Paul. My husband and I stayed here and were put in a cozy room with lovely views over the Peeblesshire hills, Cademuir, etc. Although not in our rooms everything we needed such as tea, coffee, toiletries was available at reception and were delivered to us in our room. The hotel has certainly changed a lot recently and is a chic, stylish place to stay with many period features lovingly restored as well as some modern touches. I especially like the material used to make the back of the banquette benches in the bar and restaurant and the tea cup chandeliers.

  A hotel with many pleasant surprises!

  Our dinner and breakfast at the Park were the best we have had at any hotel in several years. Hats off to Ryan, the chef, who ordered in oysters specially for my wife, on her birthday, and all the other dishes at dinner were just sublime. He magiced up a blue cheese sauce for my superbly cooked steak. The whole meal was to die for. Paul (manager? Irish) was the greatest host you could have. Just the right amount of attention, a superb eye for detail and so welcoming. Our first stay at the Park will definitely not be our last.

  Excellent Food

  A lovely historic building, and a warm welcome given by the staff. There is a small café area with a wide selection of home baked tasty treats which is available to non-residents (the cakes looked yummy!). The food in the hotel was superb and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. When we are back in the area, we will be back when time allows.

  Takeaway Food

  After deciding to try out this local business for lunch we were disappointed to receive rude customer service. We had walked up from the park to try out the take away, as we had 4 children under 4 with us we stood in part of their garden while we waited for our partners to bring our cars along from down the hill before we ordered. Someone from the hotel cameout and said you cant stand here, we explained we would literally be there for 2 or 3 minutes before the cars came, she said again, very abruptly, well you still cant stand here, we explained we were just trying to keep our children safe by not standing in a car park or by the road, again she rudely said well you still cant stand here, you can stand in the car park but not here. We took our business elsewhere and we wont be back. Food options were very limited anyway.
