  Brilliant Hotel in an good spot staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you excellent food good choice for breakfast rooms were spotless bedding changed every day very relaxing atmosphere can't wait to go back we stayed 12/10/20 to 16/10/20.

  Birthday trip

  Just returned from a one night stay at the hotel and glad it was only one night. We should have been going to Chester for 2nights in a spa hotel but due to tighter covid restrictions we cancelled. I was disappointed as the trip was for my birthday so I decided to book a one night stay at the palm court as just needed a changed of scenery. I paid £134 for one night & when I picked our room I purposely picked it for a bit of luxury. Super kingsise bed luxury toiletries in the modernised bathroom. Bath robes & slippers...... Perfect I thought..... How wrong I was. Yes it was a super kingsise bed but that's the only we got. Even that was like sleeping on a hard floor. The room was so dated with a carpet that looked like it had been down 20years. Tiles on the floor in the bathroom all cracked & broke. As for the bathrobes & slippers........ Well they never even existed. I gave this hotel a 3 star rating for the breakfast & the staff in the dining room. The food albeit we did wait a while was very freshly cooked & delicious. Would I stay here again..... No definitely not till they have a refurb.

  A welcome return visit

  Our last visit to this centrally situated hotel was marred on two fronts - (1) we were staying there to attend a funeral and (2) I had a back problem which made every movement extremely painful. The staff and management couldn't have been more sympathetic and helpful so we vowed to return as soon as possible. With our foreign plans on hold or cancelled this seemed like the ideal time to honour that promise and re-visit my birth town again.. We upgraded our room selection and were rewarded with a first floor extremely spacious spotlessly clean one overlooking the street. A great plus for the hotel is the just-round-the-corner under cover parking which comes free. Reception is efficient, informative and friendly -- meal bookings can be made immediately with a choice of bar/lounge or main dining room available. Plenty of breakfast time slots too. We booked a brasseries meal for our first night which was very good (substantial burgers!) - with a decently priced rose wine to accompany. The hotel still operates a covid price reduction midweek on bar meals paid separately to the room rate. Quite a bargain - but for the fact that someone else's drinks had also been put on our bill! Thankfully the problem was soon resolved - though the offending drinkers had probably done a runner by then. There's a good one way system in operation and social distancing is in pertain throughout the hotel. Thankfully the new rules don't come at the cost of room service - new towels and refreshments are sorted daily on request and breakfasts are still sorted with (friendly) military precision We will certainly be going back - with or without face masks!!

  Perfect Location

  Stayed here recently , perfect location . Hotel is lovely but little dated . Breakfast was included but was ready prepared so little rushed . Buffett option for drinks / cereals etc but everything brought to the table. Covid rules all followed. Price of hotel rather expensive when can stay in main city centre location at present for half the price.

  A short break

  We decided to take a last minute break at the Palm Court Hotel on a friends recommendation. We booked direct with the hotel and were given a complimentary glass of champagne each for doing so. There is free parking for guests just round the corner which is locked over night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had plenty of choice and in the evening you can eat in the restaurant or have lighter meals in the lounge, we ate in the lounge and the food and service was high quality. Well organised for current covid restrictions, which made us feel really safe. We will certainly return in the future. Ian & Sara Bishop
