BewareI cannot comment on the facilities however their attitude towards customers affected by Covid leaves a lot to be desired. I had a room booked for me and the wife, but unfortunately on the day of arrival she was advised to self isolate. I rang the hotel, not so much in hope of a refund but more to change dates. The hotel did not want to know. Not their issue. They advised me to go through Hotels.Com, which I have done but they cant even be bothered to reply.

Not bad for the price we paid...When I read the previous negative reviews after I booked I was a bit worried about my stay however it wasnt too bad at all. I booked a one night stay with use of spa facilities, breakfast and dinner. We booked our pool slot in advance as per the advice on the website but the slot we got was before we could check in to our hotel room. The lady on reception kindly sorted us out with towels for the pool area and we checked into the hotel after we used the pool. There was a bit of back and forth to reception to check the status of our room but overall it was fine. The pool area was clean and there was only us and another couple in the whole area which was nice. The pool water was warm and the hot tub was lovely. The sauna and steam room, lockers and showers in the changing rooms were closed in line with restrictions which was fine as we had been informed of this before our visit. A massive thank you to the ladies in the spa area who were brilliant, helpful and friendly. The massage with Kerry was amazing too. We requested a twin room as part of our booking but when we got into the room it was a double. With all the back and forth with getting the room in the first place, we couldnt be bothered to raise this as this was supposed to be a relaxing break away. The room needs a refresh/update as can be seen from the photos and the view was a bit rubbish. The fan in the bathroom stayed on all the time so we had to keep the door shut to keep the noise out. The bed was comfy and the shower was powerful. Overall the facilities were good. The service and food at breakfast and dinner was great. The breakfast was massive and there were lots of options to choose from. Dinner was great too - all the courses were presented well, were very tasty and the food was fresh and hot. The staff did a great job of managing a busy restaurant. We didnt use the golf course but the views around the hotel were amazing. This was a great stay overall. It was obvious the staff were trying their hardest in these difficult and unusual circumstances and I have to commend them for this - well done!

Its OK.Its an OK place ; nothing special. Golf course - Good though in a wind trap so most of the time its windy. Golf professional- Poor ; lack of customer service skills. Food - Good as is the service , though restaurant is very basic in its decor & comfort. Rooms & bed - Good. Spa - OK. If you negotiate a good deal then go. I wont be going back.

Try and avoid this hotel !Booked a room in this hotel with Booking.com. Prior to arrival phoned and asked if possible for a free upgrade was told that they "never do free upgrades" which is ok. No harm in asking. Arrived and check in was ok. Rooms are tired and in need of modernisation. Bar area spacious.. staff COVID aware. Got back to my room. Heating didn't work. Its a tired old system. Called reception, sent a guy. He fiddled around with it for 5 mins. then heard a noise and smiled and said "there! i can hear it!" So i thought great. Room didn't warm up and checked, no air coming out of vent. Called again. Sent a different guy. He fiddled around. no luck. asked me if i would try a room 3 doors down. I said yes, its now 10.30 and i really want to chill before sleep. In the next room the heating was not working. I stood and waited thinking ive just paid £100.00 here and im not relaxing and getting worked up! We stood around and this guy just looked at me and said i dont know what to do. I asked him his options. He gave me some explanation about "the other side of the hotel.." I then asked for a full refund and he said "that's impossible as I've cashed up". 10minutes later of standing looking at these vents i said look just give me a refund and he seemed to shift from the position of impossible to yes ok and we proceeded to reception for the refund. A meek apology followed. I took off to the Mercure Lambert Hotel for a comfortable night at £30 cheaper ! To this point no apology, no explanation as to why a comfortable room was not being sourced. This is a one off but at any rate its tired and dated hotel. You can do way better.

Amazing weekend breakMy boyfriend and I visited the Oxfordshire this weekend, I had read the many reviews over the last couple of months on here which made me quite apprehensive about our stay. We were so pleasantly surprised, from start to finish the trip was excellent! We booked a round of golf- very tricky but extremely enjoyable and a spa treatment with breakfast and dinner included. We cannot fault anything, the food, golf course and spa facilities were all brilliant. It was so lovely having a drink watching the golf being played outside, being able to completely relax away from working in the NHS for the first time this year. The Oxfordshire completely delivered! The staff were beyond excellent, they made sure we were happy with our room, tailored and catered for our needs at breakfast, provided excellent spa treatments and made the whole building come alive with friendly conversation. Yesterday we were given the news that we are heading into a secondary lock down, I have come away thinking of all the staff we met and I wish them all the best at this difficult time.
