  Dont Stay here

  Room. I am lost for words. The only positive is the bed linen was clean. Restaurant. Not if you want to eat, massively overpriced, for what is no more than a poor cafe, buffet food poor quality, looked like it had been out all day, ordered burger arrived uncooked, second attempt (I had obviously upset the person cooking) was just aimed at the plate and basically inedible, I was not brave enough to order any other hot food for fear of what might be done to it. Person cooking has a helper Mike (microwave) he appears to do most of the work, not even a poor rate cafe let alone a restaurant.

  Review for the restaurant

  Visited the Campanile for the second time and it was excellent, possibly even better than the first time. The food quality and value cannot be faulted. I had intended having the starter and dessert buffets with the 'steak hache cheval' in between but I didn't manage the 3rd course unfortunately. Perhaps next time I'll just have the two buffets as I'm sure the quantity of food will still be more than sufficient. There really is nothing else to say other than to recommend that if you're in the area don't pass by without trying: you will not be disappointed.

  A handy ferry stop-over

  Pleasant staff, restaurant good value, bedroom more than adequate. Free WiFi easily accessible and a strong signal. Overall a good place to stay if you're require an easy access to the ferry port. I am happy to recommend this hotel.

  Good Value Accomodations, and Most Accomodating!!!

  I've giving the Campanile Cherbourg - La Glacerie a rare 5-star rating, because a review should be about the totality of the experience, not one specific item. The Campanile is a good value for the money, clean rooms, ours had a bathtub with handshower, free WiFi, free coffee/tea service, all the amenities required. The price is moderate. As motorcyclists touring Europe, we choose this lodging because it has parking and a restaurant open for breakfast and dinner. It worth the price, and is a greata place to stay if you're awaiting the ferry to Ireland. But, the reason for the 5-star rating? Mmy wife was not feeling well. Normal check-out was 11:00AM, and our ferry didn't depart until 6:00PM. The hotel allows late check-out until 5:00PM for $55 Euro, which I was more than happy to pay. However, when I explaned the situaation to Reception (and, I assume, the owner), she said if I would pay the accomodation tax of $2.10 Euro, we could have the room for free. Now, that is the best kind of customer service, and this is the type of business that deserves your support. It's a good value, and is most defiately customer-focused.

  Room and exterior that deserves to be more renovated. Practical restaurant, but not enough diet meals friendly and helpful staff Basically, the hotel deserves a facelift (shower for example). In summary, an upgrade of the exterior rooms and showers will be necessary
