Great stay at a friendly hotelWe stayed two nights here. The food was great! You can choose from pub classics or have pizza or tapas (the tapas are amazing especially the prawns). The breakfast is also lovely; there is full english or salmon and eggs available. The best part of this hotel is its staff, they are chatty and helpful and can't do enough for you. The hotel is within close distance of nice places to visit like Rutland Water, Stamford and Burghley House (by car)

Warm, welcoming and wonderful! The Old Pheasant was the perfect getaway and made for a relaxing escape for the weekend. Steven and Gene's charming and personable hospitality were complemented by their friendly and enthusiastic hotel and bar staff. We especially admired the thoughtful and tasty menu, particularly the tapas style nibbles that were perfect for sharing. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again!

LunchMy wife and I including our dog stumbled upon this place whilst out walking in the local area. Originally we just popped in for a coffee but ended up having lunch a couple of pints and a dessert. The welcome was very friendly and the service throughout our visit. Would highly recommend and would certainly be revisiting in the future.

Can't wait to return!Got a call from my son, are you free for lunch?? So having just read a review in a local free admag, decided to try here as places to eat in Uppingham few and very far between in on a Monday. Good decision. The lunch menu is not huge, but boy is it packed with ideas. I settled for a pizza, the bases are made probably less than 2 miles away at Bisbrooke bakery. Mine was wild mushroom, and truffle oil. It was gorgeous. They tomato base sooo tomatoey. Truffle oil just the right amount to not overpower. My son had the steak ciabbatta sandwich, medium, perfect, and he said the red onion marmalade was good, complemented the sandwich perfectly. They boxed my pizza up. Be warned, I think it would feed 3, or 4 small appetites people. Onto pudding. Panacotta, with coconut and a lime and rum syrup. Chocolate rasperry, brownie with raspberry sorbet. Oh my they were so pretty. And my panacotta was sublime. It must be one of the best dessert I have ever had. Then I finished off the brownie too. The raspberry sorbet was absolutely packed with flavour. Service throughout was by Harry. He is a credit to this place. Friendly, knew his menu and was helpful and his opinion was honest. I came here for a works Christmas dinner last year. So it was lovely to go back on a more personal level. When this latest lockdown is over my family and I I will definitely be back to sample more delights.
