  Muy bueno con algunas cosas que mejorar

  Muy buena la atención, las instalaciones buenas. La habitación muy cómoda, deben mejorar la conexión a wifi ya que en la habitación no tenía alcance, no abastecen a diario los productos de higiene personal ni el agua mineral, no me pusieron cafetera aún cuando la reservación lo decía. Es un buen hotel pero pueden mejorar ya que el precio es bastante elevado. La atención de la muchacha joven dominicana que trabaja en el restaurante del hotel es excelente, nos trató muy bien y nos orientó en algunas cosas con respecto a la isla.

  The Old Gin House dinner

  Muy buen lugar para apreciar un hermoso atardecer en St. Eustatius. Muy buena música de fondo, relajante y activa. Buena cocina, buena atención aunque pudiera ser mejor. Buenas instalaciones al aire libre. No la recomendaría con lluvia. Recomendada su langosta al grill. Bebidas frías. Buen lugar

  disappointed

  Made a reservation for 2 nights and checked out one night earlier. This hotel has a lot of potential but the service is extremely disappointing. We went for a diving trip and decided to stay here as it is supposed to be the best hotel on the island and was in walking distance to the diving center. The lady who did out check in could not be bothered and was not friendly at all. She gave us the key of the room without any explanation where to go. When I asked her where the room was she pointed to the other side of the street and told us we just had to go there and would find it. She could not even be bothered to get up from the chair. She did not explain anything of the hotel, where breakfast was, timings, nothing. The lounge near the ocean was very nice with a stunning view. We had some drinks and snacks and ordered something to eat. The waitress told us we were not allowed to eat where we were sitting as all meals had to be taken at a table on the upper deck. When I asked her why she told me the lower deck was for drinks and finger food only and that meals had to be eaten with fork and knife. As if we were planning to eat our food with our hands. All service came with huffing and puffing and the waitress rolling her eyes each time we asked something. Service was horrible but the food on the other hand was very nice. After breakfast I asked for a Nespresso. I was told that I had a machine in my room and could make one myself. Why have a bar / lounge where you serve drinks if you want guests to make their own coffee in the room. The next day at 13h30 I asked for a glass of rose wine. The same grumpy reception lady told me that alcohol was only served as of 16h00 and that for now I could get a water or a coke. Again I got an answer in an arrogant way with an employee rolling her eyes at me. We preferred to leave and stay somewhere else so checked out one day earlier. The room we had was spacious and very clean. During my stay I met 4 employees and only one was friendly and very helpful.

  Rustic charm with all the modern amenities that I need.

  My group came to Statia to dive. The Old Gin House is located within walking distance of Scubaqua, the best dive op on the island. The staff at the hotel works with the staff at the dive center to make it a seamless experience. All our dive equipment was taken care of from beginning to end. Rooms are clean with a decidedly European feel. The main building used to house the Cotton Gin for the island. It is beautiful and well maintained. Every room has Air conditioning, WIFI, a smart TV and a mini fridge. Of course, we didnt even use many of these amenities because we spent all of our days diving the awesome reefs surrounding the island. The pool area is inviting and the pool is heated and crystal clear. There is a restaurant right across the street and you are only. Short walk away from the main town. The views are spectacular and the staff is friendly and unobtrusive. This was perfect for our needs. I highly recommend.

  The perfect blend of old world charm and first world values

  We had the pleasure to just spend 4 nights on Statia at The Old Gin House. Although hotel was not fully operational (due to Covid), owners/operators Marlies and Sybolt, were super accommodating to ensure we had a total island, great experience. This outstanding property is the ideal blend of old world charm and first world values and service. We had a large suite with a memory foam king size bed, fantastic view but an old world ambiance. A few steps from your suite is easy access to the ocean and a comfy lounge area complete with Heineken on draft. And to top it off, you are just paces away from the island's dive shops.
