    Buena opcion

    Excellent Listed Building, Excellent Staff

We stayed here for an all inclusive night on 15/10/2020. This was excellent value (we didn't pay as it was a gift but we looked at the value as if we had). The food was fantastic both evening meal and breakfast. The drinks that were included were also really nice. The house gin (Greenalls) was surprisingly excellent and the rum I had was Morgans Spiced, again excellent. The only downside in our opinion is that our room was a bit dated and could do with a refresh. We were in room 156 in the garden rooms. We didn't ask to be moved as it certainly wasn't a bad room. This is merely a bit of feedback. The didning room is lovely, as is the bar. The bar area could be a little lighter however, but probably as it is in keeping with the building. The staff at reception were excellent, the bar staff and waitress were again excellent and did themselves proud. Would stay again.

    5-star service and accommodation

We always book the Oaks, when staying in the Burnley & Pendle area, for long weekends and Best Western in general. This, initially, was for a 21st in the family and was booked long before COVID became a nasty word. Until Thursday of last week it was still in the balance but glad we made the choice to stay. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and you'd never know that they were operating at reduced levels, in trying times, such was the professionalism shown. We were fortunate to obtain an upgrade to a suite - room 101 - which is spacious, a separate bedroom, cupboards and large-screen tv, and a lounge/sitting area with slightly smaller tv, plus lots of cupboards which my wife tried to fully utilise, but I'm ahead of myself. Check-in was painless having arrived early in the day - initially as we'd planned to visit family - but were able to leave out bags giving us the freedom to go out and about. Due to lockdown restrictions some services were limited however, when asked, were readily replenished with items for the room. Breakfast, again, was at table (in normal circumstances is buffet style) but all items cooked fresh, substantial and filling and worth the extra, especially when unsure what was open elsewhere for eating out. The hotel is ideally located on the main local route between Burnley and Nelson, with bus stops immediately outside the grounds. For driving, easy access to the M65 motorway to Yorkshire eastbound, and to Blackburn, Manchester, Preston and M6 to the west. Lots to do locally and beyond and close to Pendle Hill which is famous for its witches. At the time of checking out staff were unsure of what the immediate future held for them, whether remaining open or having to close - hopefully remain open. The hospitality industry has suffered terribly, as have many other industries, but hotels and similar are vital, not necessarily for the tourist market in the short term but, for travelling workers amongst others. Our hope is that the Oaks continues for many years to come and look forward to spending more nights with staff who know how to take care of their guests.

    very good in trying times

in very trying times all the staff helped us enjoy a good all inclusive break , keeping to all regulations in tier 3 covid lock down rules . The 2 course meal offered was enjoyed by both of us and so were all the drinks .

Perfect night away, given they're in lockdown :)

We were greeted by a lovely receptionist, sorry I cannot remember her name. Everything was quick, efficient and nothing seemed too much trouble. To say this hotel is in Tier 3 of lockdown it did NOT effect our stay at all, hand sanitize areas are in place, have a one-way system throughout the hotel, yes the bar is closed but our meal and drinks in the restaurant certainly made up for it. Food was absolutely fantastic, also not a limited menu like most places are. Room was basic but clean, definitely worth the price too! We cannot wait to book again, thank you Oaks hotel, Mr and Mrs Kilbride
