Wonderful experience!!!I had the most special time at The Nubian. The staff were very cheerful and welcoming, going out of their way to cater for us during our entire visit. The tents have a great view of the plains and the seasonal waterfall in the hill right behind provide the perfect ambiance to a peaceful night. The hills also make for the perfect hike! The food choice and the quality is good with the chef going out of his way to serve the most delicious meals. I loved the option of lunch being set up outside under the indigenous tree. The location has such beautiful lawns and the bonfire by night make for a perfect end to the day. With the new management in place, The Nubian is highly recommended!!

Simply Amazing!I heard about this place from a friend and when the April holidays came along, we booked a week stay at the camp to spend together as a family. My first thoughts when I saw the place, was Wow! A camp surrounded by the most amazing picturesque hills. Being an outdoor person, I couldn't wait to go hiking! The staff greeted us with such warmth and showed us to our tents. Decor was uniquely African, showers were hot and tents were clean and the beds very comfortable. We arrived late but lunch was ready for us, and set beneath the Leopard Tree. The chef had gone all out and the meal and all the rest that followed were delicious! In the evening we watched the sunset and later after dinner sat around the bonfire under the most amazing clear night sky. The moon and the stars seemed to be shining just for us! Those of us dying to go hiking got off to an early start next morning and the views from the top of the hills were breathtaking. We got to decide our itinerary as we were going to be there a whole week and the staff had a vast selection for us to choose from. Each day was a new adventure! We did several game drives and were never disappointed with the vast wildlife we saw each time. We also got to visit the Rhino Sanctuary and the Maasai Village. All in all, the experience was truly amazing and memorable and the whole family is keen on coming back very soon.

Meomorable experienceWe stayed 7 nights in the Nubian lodge in the mara, truly it's experience that we won't forget. food was amazing, three course meals in middle of no where, its credit to the Nubian management and staff. Staff very friendly and very helpful, they always wanted to do more for us, to be honest we were spoil a little bit, Francis, Shella and chief John were truly awesome and owner Andrew is very accommodating gentleman. Great location middle two mountains. Value for money and we will defiantly stay there again,

Wilderness getaway experieneceWe stayed three nights in one of the Nubians luxury tents. Although a well hidden spot, once found its an amazing experience in the middle of the wilderness. Food and chef cooked excellent African cuisine and the staff, although timid, was very friendly and accommodating. The game found outside the camp include hyena, African wild dog, buffalo, giraffe and elephant. On the negative side, the bar was not well stocked, no wifi and no credit card machine. Bring cash and your own cabernet sauvignon for the evenings plus a sweater as it can get a bit chilly in the tents unless you share it with someone nice and warm blooded. Should they fix the above its a strong 4 star experience - overall a very recommended experience!

Not to be recommendedI made a booking for my guests as a group and every day had a new frustration. The owner cuts corners on everything- the food ran out EVERY TIME. There was no hot water on our arrival, and no water the next morning. Power and water was turned off early so we could not flush the toilets, wash our hands or charge phones. The uphill paths to the tents were uneven and unlit. Any attempts to get torches provided were futile. We had elderly members in our group - one couple was stowed in a tent at the top of the hill and despite mentioning that she was having breathing problems, they did not move her. Our first dinner was partly in the dark - half the lights were not working and staff had to hold their mobile phone torches above their heads for us to see our food. This camp is 2 hours away from the Mara gate which means we have to be out all day. Having made a full board booking we had a picnic (I have stayed in another camp to see the migration so I know the deal). We each had 2 slices of the cheapest bread sandwiches with margarine and thin slice of ham, and a bottle of water to last us a full day out in the park. Dry cheap supermarket muffins we couldn't finish accompanied this. We were starving within hours and too far away to head back. I discussed this with the director on return and he had a 'surprised' look on his face. We discussed packing breakfast the next day as we would be leaving even earlier to see the crossing - making the breakfast ingredients into bacon and sausage sandwiches. Nothing doing. We had even less of the meager ham 'sandwiches', with most having the equivalent of a slice of bread (including a diabetic guest who needed a good meal). The drivers had to share their breakfast with us! The food ran out at every meal, and once, some of the guests had to wait for leftovers to be re-heated. Most annoying was the director's fake look of surprise and bluster every time I has to seek him out to ask for the basics. He has used 'over capacity' as an excuse for lack of amenities, but the booking was made months before, and not all guests turned up. The place clearly had its charm in the past but now feels like it the owner will not spend any more money on it, both in infrastructure, and cheating guests out of food. It was embarrassing for me as the host for my guests and ruined my holiday. Do not go there!
