Ok for a stopoverCar park is next to the hotel, hotel is older style, staff friendly on arrival, stayed in a single room which was ok I size. Food was ok nothing fancy, wifi didnt work in the room, single bed like most places was poor quality, why dont hotels provide a decent single mattress ?. Water pressure low therefore Shower wasnt very good. Room was clean. Not great soundproofing. Breakfast was good.

Mr TurnerMyself and my partner stayed one night in room I would suggest to any future customers do not stay or have any contact with the manager, we stayed in room with no heating, no staff on site, every time you leave the hotel you have to hand in key and on return have to wait for return of key with never any staff on reception, the breakfast in the morning was the worst food I have ever eaten and was food from previous day that had been microwaved, I approached the manager who said he was not interested in my claims and quote IM Done with you!!! So I am posting this so future people don't have our experience and I'm taking legal action, a horrible experience and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, a rude manager by the name Valentine, looking forward to seeing his reaction when my report is made.

Will not stay againNot a great experience. The hotel is shabby and dated. Our room on arrival had the window wide open, it was 4 degrees outside and the radiators could not be switched on. Music from the bar until 01.45 made it impossible to sleep. I went down to the bar and bar man said he would sort out the problem. There was only the 1 bar staff and 2 customers so I cannot understand why the music was being played so loud. The bed was uncomfortable, the sink water came out of the shower drain and smelled awful. There was only a shower which was mouldy with a very poor flow and not easy to adjust. There was no extracter in the bathroom. The room has single glazing and so very noisy from traffic noise. No bedside table on one side, the room being very dated in every aspect imaginable. We paid £80.00 for a double room with breakfast but to be honest I would not stay again if the room was free. The only saving grace was the lady who served a nice breakfast. Never again and a full refund would be gratefully accepted.

Bombay Club at The New EnglandBeautifully refurbished room. Attentive staff. Good food. The hotel has had a huge makeover and is looking really good outside and in. The bar area is comfortable to sit in and Covid compliance is adhered to with masks worn, hand sanitisers available and track and trace.

Tired, dated and on its last legsStaying in the area regularly on business. Hotels in Boston are limited anyway but of those I've stayed at this is by far the worst. Think of it as a grand old lady, playing her final tune. The hotel has the vibe it was once quite decent in the 60s and 70s but now simply doesn't get the footfall it once did. On arrival there seems to be furniture and stuff being stored everywhere like they have too much and none of it gets used. Easy check in though and friendly chap on reception. Free car park available and good wi fi in the bedroom. Communal areas are very tired and dated and corridors feel unfriendly and the whole ambiance of the place is quite intimidating, think DSS doss house. Room was very dated and dingy although passably clean and comfortable enough for a one night stay. However bathroom was disgusting. Main light didn't work and felt like you might pull the ceiling down with the string switch. Had to rely on the mirror light to wash by. Sink was still dirty and covered in toothpaste from the last resident and I debated having a shower at our offices it was that filthy. Bath mat probably 20 years old it had gone yellow and perished. Tiles were moldy and bath tap had a constant dribbling leak leaving a dirty streak all down the bath. Taps and shower mixer were covered in limescale and virtually impossible to get a decent shower temperature and shower pressure wasn't good. Bed sheets and towels seemed clean and well laundered though. Didn't use the bar or eat there as hotel seemed empty and menu uninspiring. Breakfast was basic and felt like you were sat in a storage area, loads of empty table and chairs but lady serving was very friendly. Cooked breakfast was basic but did seem mostly freshly cooked. Will not be coming back in a hurry though.
