  Obsoleto

  Seguro que fue un gran hotel, pero está totalmente obsoleto. Necesita urgente renovación. Moquetas añejas, habitaciones dignas de resplandor, tufo aceitoso de la cocina infumable, etc, etc.. Por salvar algo, la sala de la chimenea.

  AMAZING!!

  Qué experiencia tan gratificante, qué familiaridad del personal, las habitaciones muy amplias, con sala y muchísima luz. El desayuno típico de Inglaterra " English breakfast " espectacular y gran variedad con un salón dónde hacen que te sientas como en casa. Gracias por hacer que mi estancia fuera perfecta.

  Husband 50th away

  Found this amazing hotel by chance while looking for a few nights away I booked 2 nights for myself and husband and upgraded for £10.00 and thr room was amazing the hotel is very central to york and is so beautiful the look of the hotel is old but its so warm I side and inviting we found the staff amazing so polite and so easy to talk too.Food was fantastic such a choice for breakfast unfortunately due to covid the spa area was closed but I knew this when I booked The gardens outside looked amazing and I can imagine going when its the warmer konths as it has a out door pool.The staff have done a great job in such uncertain times and I cannot find any fault with the hotel or the amenities We will be re booking for next year and will be bringing more of us

  Lovely stay!

  We had a really lovely stay here this December! We havent had a break away together since February so it was a really great way to celebrate Christmas coming! My husbands parents recommended this hotel, and were so glad they did! We stayed in room 21 which is absolutely amazing! Much more like a suite, we had a huge bedroom, study/living room, utility room and bathroom with a huge bath and walk in shower. Room was clean and bright! We had a truly comfortable stay, bed was super soft and we snuggled up in the dressing gowns for the evening drinking tea and eating the cookies - all three provided by the hotel. Free WiFi included, which was great for watching shows on our laptop. We were also provided with an umbrella, as it was raining and the staff were really friendly and helpful - a credit to the hotel! We would highly recommend staying here, and if you do, stay in room 21!

  Good location

  Firstly they take covid very seriously, cleaning and mask wearing single use items, remotes in coverings, for anyone worried. Positives- Staff lovely and friendly, check in quick, fairly close to York centre maybe a 10min walk, good parking facilities that are free. Negatives- the smell, I know its an oldish property but the smell of old curtains and material was not pleasant, the bed is extremely uncomfortable when moved on it could feel springs popping. Property is quite dusty needs a good clean of headboards and room in general. Room is very dark as no celling lights only table lamps and all furniture being very dark. Would I stay again? Probably not, as better and more modern properties closer to the city for cheaper. If your after an older building and older style room with dark furniture then this may suit you I just prefer more modern and bright.
