Lovely hotel and fab serviceI stayed at the Mount Hotel Country Manor for two nights in August and loved every minute. The hotel itself is beautiful, a great mix of old and new which I love and you can tell that the owners and staff alike take pride in the hotel and so they should. The cleanliness was second to none and you could tell that they were taking all necessary precautions with regard to Covid-19, in fact they seem to have gone above and beyond and made me feel very safe. I had dinner and drinks in the Bar on Saturday night and I was very impressed with the food, so compliments to the chef........ oh and the cocktails were good too. The staff and management were all very friendly during my stay and made me feel very welcome too, so thank you. Safe to say the Mount Hotel will always be my first choice when staying in Wolverhampton and I will definitely be recommending it to my friends and family. Keep up the good work.

Minor problems due to the "deadly virus" but will definately stay there again.Excellent hotel, lovely room in the Courtyard area and staff did their best in trying circumstances. The intruder alarm system going off at 6.45am was a bit offputting, but the staff were very apologetic and gave us good room service breakfasts in recompense. We were recommended to stay in this hote,l by several friends and we are most happy to pass on that recommendation. We will most certainly stay there again.

A very nice place to stayVery re-assuring that this Hotel is taking the Covid regulations very seriously and ensuring that every measure is being taken to protect customers and staff. My stay was comfortable, the room was spacious, very clean and I enjoyed a good nights sleep. The staff are professional, friendly and welcoming. Despite the operational difficulties faced by the Hotel team, my stay was seamless and enjoyable. If you are looking for accommodation in this area, rather than stay at one of the faceless corporate hotels, try this one, its unique, has character and is individual as you are !

Lovely stay over ChristmasWe stayed a few days over Christmas due to a change in a living situation and our stay couldnt have been better. We stayed in a courtyard room which had a separate entrance and we felt completely safe at such a strange time. Being away from family is always difficult at Christmas time but the room was very spacious, lovely and warm (subzero temperatures outside), very clean and the bed was super comfy - I slept like a log both nights. Shower was also hot and powerful which isnt always the case with some hotels. The staff were lovely and couldnt do enough for us (especially the manager, sorry not sure of his name) despite the uncertain times. Would definitely stay again - thank you for having us :)

Made Christmas Day possible! Thanks to the Mount for being available for the Christmas "lockdown window". It meant I was able to make a legal visit and spend Christmas Day with my sister and see my mum through her care home window, after such a long time. Being originally from Wolverhampton, it's nice to support an independent local business. I was very impressed that, not only did the hotel not inflate its prices at this difficult time, but it also upgraded our booking, at the standard rate, to an executive room. The room was in the stable block, with an enormous bed and a separate single bed area with a desk. There was also a mini bar fridge and snacks, which we didn't use but handy in an emergency. The room has good towels and bedlinen, decent toiletries (the executive room added bits included a tiny tube of toothpaste, which was great as I'd forgotten mine!) and everything was very clean, as you would expect. Just beware of the hot water, as it's very effective and is scorching if the tap is turned to max heat. There is only one downside in an old hotel and that is that sound carries, I think from the downstairs rooms. I doubt the occupants knew that we could hear their tv late on Christmas Eve or that they had radio 4 on early in the morning or knew when they were on the phone! But I can also put that down to Christmas and that maybe they'd had as awful a journey as we'd had! We stayed here earlier in the year too for an emergency reason and both times the customer service and personal approach are excellent. I got quick replies to email enquiries before booking from Ryan and Neil, friendly booking on the phone and on arrival. Breakfast during covid times is a breakfast box left at your door and there was no problem about including it one day and not on another and no problem about gluten free alternatives, to the extent that I got a phone call from the lady on reception (sorry I didn't get her name) to ask if I'd like her to make me a slice of gf toast, which she then brought up still hot. The rest of the breakfast box was pretty substantial for a cold breakfast - cereal, milk, fruit salad, cheese, (muffin and cereal bar for the on gf), piece of fruit. (PS: when the restaurant is open, the food is excellent - have celebrated two birthdays there in the past.) On Christmas Day, we came back to mince pies, crackers and a card left in the room, which was such a nice touch. Because the room isn't serviced during covid, you phone to ask for extra tea bags, toilet roll etc and they arrived within minutes. We didn't use it, but the limited room service menu we were warned about was actually pretty varied and would have been great if we'd needed it. When we stayed earlier in the year, the waitress went out of her way to make our meal special when we weren't able to sit with family here and socially distanced us so that we could still communicate. All of this friendly and helpful service happened whilst staff themselves must be going through difficult or uncertain times. They wouldn't know that we'd had an awful year and that a stay where we didn't need to worry about anything was much appreciated. Thanks to The Mount for helping us have as close to a normal Christmas as was possible this year. I'm sorry to learn that it looks as though the hotel may be closing temporarily and I hope it will be open by the time I can legally visit family again.
