Meal for 11Not very happy, came here for a birthday meal for 11, pre-booked. A vegetarian was served haggis for starters, when I let the waiter know he just smirked, this then left the vegetarian and another person eating starters when everyone else had finished. The people who ordered pie didnt get mash as the menu stated, but chips. There was no steak available. When the mains arrived the chips, breaded chicken and chicken burgers were burnt as well as cold?! The breaded chicken was supposed to come with broccoli, I wasnt bothered it didnt come with this but politely let the waiter know this for future reference, a few minutes later the said waiter slammed the broccoli down next to me and harshly said there you go. All meals were cold and could tell they had been sat in the kitchen waiting for the final 2 to finish starters. Wasnt worth the money they charged in the first place let alone with 50% off. Will not be returning again, not just because of the food but also the attitude of the waiter we had to deal with.

Food reviewIf you like to eat cardboard and enjoy tasteless food this place is for you! Staff seem friendly though needs a lick of paint and maybe some bleach probably best part of it was the tar tar sauce which defo came out of a jar

One to avoidExtremely below average pub food. Starter - we ordered bbq chicken wings, they arrived with minimum meat on and were extremely dry. The bbq element was literally a dollop of bbq sauce dribbled over the top - I could have done that at home. We left the starter, very disappointing. Main - the chicken burger was dry and very bland. Dessert - after waiting over 40 minutes for dessert we asked when this would be ready to be told the kitchen is busy it will be ready when its ready - a really poor attitude from staff, if we hadnt already paid we would have walked out at this point. Overall this place is definitely one to avoid, weve really enjoyed the eat out to help out scheme and thought we would give here a try...never again.

Great Food and very friendly serviceVisited with friend for a long awaited catch up. First meal out since lock down , so was a little nervous, I was made to feel comfortable from the start The waiter was very attentive and friendly. Food was very enjoyable and reasonably priced. Will definitely return.

DisgracefulWe first stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago, then it was a lovely well cared for hotel and very good value for the money. Since then we've stayed there another couple of times when we've visited our daughter who lives near by. There has been a gradual decline of this hotel in many areas over the past couple of years, but has now reached a nadir. We stayed there last weekend and I have to state the following: 1) Our daughter made the booking for us over the phone, when we arrived the staff could find no record of the booking as obviously whoever took the call couldn't be bothered to process the booking. Luckily a room was found for us. 2) The room showed a lack of care, maintenance, and cleanliness. The mattress and pillows have been replaced at some point with cheap and inferior quality items. 3) We booked for an evening meal and the menu consisted of mainly burgers, which in my opinion were average. 4) The breakfast menu was the absolute pits; poached egg on what looked like reconstituted avocado. The only saving grace for this venue are the front of house staff who worked tirelessly and professionally, (special "thank you" to Trisha and Louise) and deserve better owners and managers. Finally, a message to the present owners: you clearly do not understand the concept of "Hospitality" so get out of the business and let someone else who cares run and restore what was once a lovely little hotel
