  Nice pool to swim in!

  This was a reasonable sized place to stay for a family. The pool and grounds were well maintained and location was quiet. We stayed in a 3 bedroom at back of property on top floor and were content with most beds. Air conditioning was okay but not cold enough in all rooms. Floors lacked cleanliness and lounge area was in need of attention and updating. It had most cooking utensils and crockery but $5 per pool towel was an interesting extra cost to incur. Items needing repair were attended to quickly and extra supplies readily provided. Overall, the rooms were satisfactory and adequate.

  Very disappointing

  I booked a standard double room. Was disappointed that the pictures of a modern room with a tiled floor - was not what I was given. We arrived at 3.30pm in Sunday 26th and reception was not open. We were left an envelope in a basket At the reception desk, which had a welcome letter and key to our room. Our room was clean enough but really dated. There was no information booklet in the room! It was a very basic room. They have a pool, however dont provide pool side towels. So you are required to use your room towels. On the Monday our room was not cleaned nor were our towels replaced. This is quite unhygienic. Even though it is a hotel it is certainly not managed as a true hotel. Wont be staying there again, nor recommending it to anyone.

  Elegant building with a beautiful pool it's and it's only a stroll to town

  The most spacious apartment I've ever stayed in and it had a view over that gorgeous pool! ! Quite an elegant building with it's magnificent staircase from the main foyer. Security parking and the Onsite Management are very friendly and helpful too. Quite busy when we were here in January and it was meant to be the Off Season. A great escape for a lot North Americans at that time of year apparently to escape their winter. So Port Douglas is a brilliant place any time of year so we'll be back so we'd better get this place booked again to escape our winter. We did meet some of the owners while at the pool and they live here for 6 months of the year - perfect setup! I would opt for one of the units that face out to Davidson Street at the back of the building as it would be much quieter. Recommend this place and I certainly can't understand the negative comments...some people are just too hard to please at best of times!

  All round fabulous

  It would be hard to find an apartment as good as the one I stayed in for the price. The high ceilings gave an extra feeling of spaciousness and the outlook from the bedrooms both had a view over the magnificent pool. We were met by the managers who were very helpful and pleasant. The Unit was situated just a 15min stroll from the Main Street in Port Douglas and also across the road was just a three minute stroll to the main beach. Considering the price paid for many resorts in Port Douglas this was value indeed and was far bigger than any others I have stayed in. I would certainly recommend this to anybody, it was quiet and extremely comfortable which made our stay a great one, if I had the money I would even buy it!!!

  Great value stay, close to everything.

  Looking around for a festive stay, there were many places to choose from, however none I believe offered the value as The Mediterranean. 15/20 minute stroll into town/marina meant you could leave the car in the secure car park or should you need to pick up some shopping and want to avoid carrying it back in the heat - then a two minute drive will be all you need. Craig welcomed us on arrival and was very friendly and inquisitive as to our plans whilst in town - only for the reason to suggest things had we not already had bookings made. A great pool and spa (not huge, but big enough) helped cool us down after each days activities. Spacious ground floor - two bed apartment that we had, had everything we needed - our only comments were that the queen bed in the master bedroom was perhaps a little too firm for us and did make for some restless sleeps but others may like a harder mattress in which case you wont be disappointed. The only other thing was our outdoor seating didnt really have any view as such but we found ourselves sitting by the pool most of the time if not out in town. Id have no hesitation in recommending The Med for anyone visiting Pt Douglas.
