Historic and relaxingThe Mayhurst Inn is such an incredibly beautiful building, and it's amazing to think about all the history and all the people who have passed through it. The setting is stunning and the appointments inside are very well done. But maybe even more important, the welcoming ambience created by the gracious hosts and their family make you want to kick off your shoes and just hang out. Don't miss the cute little sheep and goats out back!

Southern hospitality at its bestFor our 5th anniversary, we chose Mayhust Inn because it was the perfect place to celebrate in a grand style while staying local. Mayhust is an 1859 manor full of southern charm and antique luxuries. By accident, we stayed in a different room each night, the Italian Suite and Southern Charm. But it was one of our favorite things! We had so much fun experiencing both rooms, each perfectly decorated to transport you to a different era. Southern Charm gets the spotlight for the best views the room has beautiful palladium windows overlooking the pond and front yard. The Italian Suite wins the award for the largest room since it's actually two rooms. The adjacent sitting/soaking room has a gas fireplace that sits in front of a large black granite whirlpool tub AND a private balcony. Although the room's decor, the house architecture, and the darling grounds were enough to make this trip unforgettable, it was our hosts, Jason and Casey, that made this trip truly exceptional. From the homemade breakfast to the local recommendations and desire to accommodate our schedule, they made us feel like the aristocracy that likely frequented the house. The whole stay was southern hospitality at its best. Eric and I highly recommend this precious inn to anyone looking for excellent service, delightful breakfast, and plenty of places to explore/ take pictures did I mention that it's only 20 min from Barboursville, Keswick, and many other wineries?

Cant Wait To Go Back!!!This was the first time my wife and I have ever stayed at a bed and breakfast so we went into it not knowing what to expect. However, after arriving, we knew we had made the right choice! This place was so beautiful and amazing inside and out! The owners were super friendly and made us feel like we were right at home. The room we stayed in was the Italian Suite and it was very spacious and beyond our expectations! There was also a jacuzzi in the bathroom that I didnt even know was included when I made the reservation. The history behind the Mayhurst is very interesting and it was so fun to become a part of this amazing experience. The breakfast that we had was very tasty and included French toast, berries in cream, and savory bacon. The coffee was also a treat! Around 10pm during our stay, my wife and I asked the owners if it was possible to get some water and a late night snack and they sent up some water and a plate of cheese, crackers, strawberries and chocolate. The morning of our departure, it started snowing outside and the place became even more magical! Casey, one of the owners, went outside with us and took our picture in front of the beautiful snow-covered house! When we left the Mayhurst, we were actually sad to go. The house was so warm and cozy inside and full of rich American history. I felt like I had gone back to when times were simpler and more peaceful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get away from the crazy, stressful city life or for those who enjoy experiencing the historical aspect and want to go back in time and relive the days of old when life was different in America. Included on the property are a pond with a canoe that you can use, a bonfire pit that the owners will light for you when requested, a lighted gazebo, a barn with goats, some trails you can explore, a swing, several benches overlooking scenic spots, and much more! They are also making several new flower gardens! The owners and their kids are very friendly and treat their guests like they are part of the family. This place gets a 10/10 from us!! We cant wait to go back again!!!

5 Star Service and Transported Through TimeMy boyfriend and I had booked a stay over Valentines Day weekend and it could not have been more perfect. First and foremost the Mayhurst Inn is situated in the most beautiful scenery. The land is absolutely vast and I cannot wait to come back when it's warmer out to explore the property more. Secondly the estate is gorgeous, I felt absolutely transported back in time while still enjoying a 5 star experience. I had purchased the romance package which was quite amazing. Great champagne, beautiful bouquet of roses and delicious chocolate covered strawberries. While we had planned to go wine tasting on Saturday, we had gotten hit with a pretty bad ice storm. Casey and Jason were very fast to accommodate and had made on the fly a lasagna dinner and had wine at the ready. I 1,000% recommend this inn to anyone and everyone looking for a getaway. I cannot wait to come back :)

FABULOUS STAYI wish I could give the Mayhurst Inn more than five stars! The house, and especially our hosts, were absolutely magnificent! My husband and I stayed in the very comfortable "Madison" room that accommodated a comfortable king size bed and had a gas fireplace to add some ambiance. Our hosts could not to enough to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. We stayed Valentine's Weekend, and ended up getting snowed and iced in on the Saturday we visited. Our host and hostess were proactive in finding out if any area restaurants were going to be one that day. When finding out all were closed due to the weather, they offered us lunch and dinner, along with fine bottles of Virginia wines, at a very reasonable cost. We spent the day in forced relaxation in front of the communal room's fire enjoying the company of the other guests. The lunch and dinner were both wonderful! We were able to get out on Sunday to enjoy the local wineries and antique stores we had planned to visit. If you want to stay in a well maintained and appointed historical home with the best innkeepers in the world as your hosts, then Mayhurst Estates is your place!
