First class stayWe stopped off as part of a longer trip, and was glad we did. Great Inn tucked away in a village close to Yeovil, with first class facilities , great bar and restaurant. Since we booked a room for the night, we took advantage of booking a table for the evening. Great beer, and excellent food, with friendly staff made it worth while. Breakfast lived up to expectations, and we were sorry to go. Recommended.

The Bolthole shepherds hutWe stayed here for a weekend, it absolutely rained non-stop but it didn't stop us having fun. The bolthole was adorable and they staff provided everything you could possibly need, including spare dog bowls/blankets, torches, towels, shower gel, logs for kindling, etc. The hut was cleaned every day and the tea/coffee supplies were stocked up. The Masons Arms itself is a wonderful pub and the food is delicious, with lots of options for breakfast. You are quite central to many areas to visit if you don't mind a half hour drive. The nearby Montecute House is worth a look. We will be coming back again.

Top Notch CookingThis is in my opinion a great pub. Very characterful and tastefully decorated/furnished. More importantly its extremely well run and staffed by professional, helpful and personable staff. Terrific beer brewed on the premises is a big draw for me but the food was the star. Yes its close to restaurant pricing but the quality is top restaurant standards so worth every penny. My wife had the gurnard which was excellent and my chicken dish was first class. Im not a pudding person but the reproduction of a Snicker/marathon was to die for. On top of this the campsite attached to the pub is very good with great facilities and we had a very comfortable stay in our Motorhome. Hope to come back soon and highly recommended. Thank you!

A Real Dog Friendly HotelWell this has got to be one hotel on top of my list to go again. A lot of places dont really tell you what you can and cant do with your dog well the Masons Arms have got this down to a T Let me mention about the COVID situation this hotel has got everything in place the sanitizer is all over the hotel with wipes available plus inside your room there is a letter explaining what is set in place so if you feel insecure about eating with people around you can ask for it to be served in your room or if you dont want to take your dog to the dining room. Now lets talk about the outside for your dogs well this is actually the first hotel I have stayed at which has a freedom field for you dog to run around freely without worrying if you cant escape ( but dont forget there is no such thing as a poo fairy) I took 3 dogs with me the hotel has a extra £10 charge for the dog which is the normal with every hotel I have been when I arrived I said that I have 3 dogs but expecting to pay a extra £20 for the extra dogs that wasnt the case it was just the £10 for all the dogs. Inside the room was 2 dog bowls in the bathroom area a soft bed by the radiator which one of my dogs went straight to it and stayed there. The finder in the room is a excellent idea as I drink a lot of hot drinks so I need milk all the time but I suppose that you can get them from the bar if you ask but inside were 2 bottles of larger and 2 bottles of water (which I told them when paying I used 1 bottle of each) these are complimentary (knock me down with a feather) The Masons Arms have got everything in place and well thought of but I would advise that a rubber mat would be a idea for the bath just to make it easy to get out if disabled or have problems getting out of a bath. The TV is not a postage stamp and you can see it actually in bed the room is bright and clean the tea facilities in the room has a great selection from fruit tea to decaf coffee and they give you a mug instead of one of those tiny cups you have to squeeze your finger in.

Something for everyoneFour real ales This pretty thatched village pub has managed to combine being a village local with catering for all sorts of tourists. Their on-site micro brewery is a bonus and all the beers are excellent. Rooms are luxurious and very well priced; there is also a camp site and a shepherds hut for glamping. The interesting menu and drinks are all available either to eat in or take away to your accommodation. They support local food producers and all the food we had was delicious. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They reserved a parking space for us to enable us to park close to all the amenities to reduce the distance we needed to walk due to mobility issues. Very welcoming, friendly atmosphere Large car park and easy access
